Heaven belongs to those who are prepared to enter into the joys of the Master. Our task as gospel preachers is to give people the information they need to know the Lord and to persuade them to act upon what they know. “Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).

Since we do not know when the Lord Jesus will return, we must act with urgency to be prepared. Even if the Lord delays His return, we cannot imitate the five foolish virgins and fail to prepare.

We only have one soul to offer up for judgment. We must prepare our souls while there is time. When Jesus comes again, time will be no more; we will face our eternal destinies. We cannot imagine all the heartache to follow, should we hear the words, “Truly I say to you, I do not know you.”

On our streets live people who are unprepared to meet God. Unprepared, they face an enormous rejection and an unchanging tragedy. The Lord Jesus has sacrificed Himself for their sake and offered His blood for a way to salvation. Should they fail to receive the Lord’s offering by obedience to the truth, they will be unprepared.

Our task is to preach the riches of His grace and love and to persuade people to respond. We cannot force anyone to trust and obey Him, but we cannot remain silent about the Lord.

SEARCH offers a means by which we can share the truth broadly to millions of households in the hope they will respond. We know millions who are outside of Christ are listening each week to our message. Many who might never enter our church house doors are able to learn what they must do to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

Help us reach into their hearts and souls with the gospel. Pray for us, tell your friends about SEARCH, and please give generously to this ministry.

The Lord be with you, Phil Sanders

Unprepared to Meet God

This summer has been busier than most, as I have traveled to several states preaching and teaching. Wherever I go, people tell me they are watching the SEARCH program. For this and all the encouraging words we receive, we praise God with thankfulness for you.

During the month of August, we’ll be presenting the series entitled, “Your Soul.” This series helps people realize the urgent need to serve the Lord Jesus. We invite you to download the sermons each week.

An interactive map of stations and local churches are available on our website (www.searchtv.org). Wherever you go on vacation within the USA, there is likely a faithful congregation of the Lord’s church within driving distance. We urge you to use this service.

My traveling schedule is completely booked for 2017 and mostly booked for 2018. I love to speak, but my time is limited. If you wish to book a meeting or weekend, you must book well in advance. I try not to double-book, but I find myself having to reschedule at times.

I hope to see many of you at Polishing the Pulpit in Sevierville, TN this month. Allen Webster and the organizers have assigned me several important topics, and I am anxious to encourage and be encouraged. If you come, please look me up! It will be a great week!

From Friend to Friendby Phil Sanders “Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’

But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour” (Matthew 25:11–13).

Charitable AnnuitiesYou can now contribute to SEARCH in the form of a charitable annuity. Charitable annuities allow donors to draw interest as long as they live on the money they contribute. Your money also blesses SEARCH with interest each year. If you have an interest in a charitable annuity, please contact us.

The outreach of the SEARCH program continues to touch the far corners of our world. With the advent of voice-over-IP devices like Magic Jack, SEARCH is now getting calls from around the globe. In the last couple of weeks a preacher from India has contacted the SEARCH staff and told us about seeing the program on his computer in the rural countryside of India. He was so happy to be able to watch and listen to “brother Phil Sanders” preach the truth in his small corner of the world. And, he intends to tell other members of the church as well as non-members who are seeking the truth of Christ. Have you told others about the SEARCH website and invited them to watch the program? www.searchtv.org

In September the SEARCH booth will be set up in the student center during the Harding University lectureship. Also, later this month SEARCH will be on display at Polishing the Pulpit in Sevierville, TN. We enjoy visiting and introducing people to IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY at events like these and we hope to see you there as well.

As I have mentioned before, sometimes the SEARCH program that has been showing in your area changes the time shown, or the channel may have to change. The SEARCH staff works hard to keep these changes to a minimum. To keep you informed about times and channels check on the schedule pages of this newsletter for the most up-to-date information. For instance, this week the Phoenix station KAZT channel 7 which has been shown previously on the local cable channel 13 has changed and will now be shown on cable channel 7 for those in the Phoenix area.

The SEARCH information technology group, Craig Dodgen and Brian Berry, are constantly working to improve our website and its associated functions. Their goal is to provide a convenient way for you to locate the SEARCH program anywhere in the US. You will find on our site the date and time of the program, as well as supporting congregations in the area of the broadcast. This type of information is great when you travel and extremely helpful when telling family and friends who may live several states away how to find and share the program. Technology is constantly changing and we will keep looking at ways to improve the website and how it can be used to spread the word.

SEPT 3 – THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIPJust because something is free doesn’t

mean it’s cheap. Grace is free, but the cost of discipleship is another matter. The Lord Jesus paid a dear price for our souls, and we ought to take our faith seriously.

SEPT 10 – IS GOD ACTIVE TODAY? Some think God is absent in our world today;

others say God is dead. The Bible teaches God is indeed alive and active in the world today and is working for our good. We can be thankful to have a God who cares for us.

SEPT 17 – THE CHURCH IS NECESSARY Many people think you can be a good

Christian without being a member of any church. Is church necessary? We’re going to explore what God says about the church in Scripture and see how God thinks about the church.

SEPT 24 – SEVEN VIRTUES God has asked us to make every effort to add

to our faith seven virtues. These qualities will keep us from stumbling and will richly provide us an entrance into the eternal kingdom in heaven. We need these seven virtues.

Changes in technology sometimes bring challenges to the Search IT department. A few months ago there was an update to the map system we use on our website. The church and station maps stopped working properly and required us to rebuild them. We've been working for the past few months to get all the functionality back. You may have noticed that we lost the ability to search for locations. That was the largest hurdle we had to figure out and it was giving us lots of headaches.

Yesterday, we were excited to finally get the search function back and working better than ever before. But we’re not content to stop there. We have new ideas to continue to improve the maps and its function. Keep an eye out for these coming changes as we work to make the maps more streamlined and user friendly.

SEARCHOF THE LORD’S WAY ®

ARLINGTON, TN “After receiving the great news about God’s hand directly, ‘In Search of the Lord’s Way’ – to reach millions of souls with His gospel truth in New York and Northeast United States; I plan to contribute more of God’s blessings in our efforts to reach lost and dying souls. God bless all of you at ‘In Search of the Lord’s Way,’ for your faithful dedication and diligent sacrifices to proclaim God’s truth.”

VIENNA, WV “Tell Phil to keep up those plain and excellent lessons. We appreciate them so much. Since my husband is handicapped and we can’t attend worship as much as we used to, we record them and can listen over again if we wish. When those 19 stations dropped you, God opened the door so even lots more people could hear the Gospel. We pray you can keep up this good work always.”

COOLIDGE, AZ “May God bless you, the staff, and all connected to bringing your message to Arizona every Sunday. I watch them before going to worship. Please send me copies of last month’s programs and a study sheet of each. I share the CD’s with others and am going to send the study sheet to a prisoner in the Arizona State Prison in Florence.”

DODGE CITY, KS “I was glad to see you gained more channels to use on TV. So sorry you lost the other ones. It is so sad when they don’t want to hear the truth. I am enclosing my donation and pray it will be of some help. May God bless your work. I enjoy your lessons so much.”

TEXARKANA, AR “Thank you for the CD’s, but you can take us off the list and send to someone who needs them. We get the lesson on TV and I download some from the computer. I have saved what you sent to me so I can share them and also listen to them when I’m not able to attend services.”

LIVINGSTON, TX “I try to watch your program every Sunday as I get ready to meet with the church in Livingston, Texas. I would like a printed copy of your sermon and any other tracts or pamphlets you have on the subject ‘Where Is God’ when we are in pain, etc. We have all wondered about this and it comes up often with people taking Bible courses. I do Bible studies with prisoners and I’m asked about this subject a lot so I need all the information I can get on the subject. Your sermon was clear to understand and I thought a copy of it might help me. I enjoy your Sunday sermons so much. Preachers have gotten away from plain, simple sermons that will help us all on our way to heaven. We don’t need big words, we need the simple truth.”
