First work in photoshop

Process:

This was the first picture I edited using photoshop. I tried to make pieces of my grandfather in the photo fly away leaving a white dot on the face. It was not successful at all. I mixed up the brushes as well as the sizes. This image shows how I was struggling in the beginning, but eventually you can see improvements in my work.

Model: My grandfather

Second work in photoshop

Process:

This is the second photo I chose to show. It is a picture of my grandmother. Here I was playing with the image of childhood and happiness. I was also playing with the colours of the sunset. The image uses a double exposure effect. It was very challenging to make this image aesthetically pleasing because the picture of my grandmother was black and white and the other picture was colorful, but I think I made it work.

Third work in photoshop

Process:

After not being that successful in the first image using this effect I tried doing the same technique after gaining more skills. There is definitely improvements in this picture. The photograph was mostly made to explore with the app and does not have a specific meaning, but it helped me in gaining better understanding for the tools in the app and how to make a picture comfortable to look at.

Fourth work in photoshop

Process:

This picture also plays with double exposure and is made to look aesthetically pleasing and representing a memory of a trip we went to together which is were I took the picture of the tree. We learned a lot of thing on this trip which is why it shows how memories shapes a person.

Fifth work in photoshop

Process:

The last photograph I edited uses the same double exposure effect as the fourth and the second piece. I really like how this came together. I think the colors fit very well together. This picture is more about home. My grandmother lives very close to the mountains so every time I visit them I can see the tall mountains from the their house. So the tall mountains reminds me of being with her.

First Work in Lightroom

Process

Before

This was the first picture I took and the first piece I edited in lightroom. I tried experimenting with the different filters. I also played around with light, colour and contrast.

Second Work in Lightroom

Process

Before

This is the second piece i did in lightroom and the second picture I took. It is in the same location as the previous one. This one plays more with perspective. But when it comes to the effect and editing in lightroom it is pretty much the same. I did remove some circle on the glass because I wanted it to be more see through.

Third Work in Lightroom

Process

Before

In this piece I wanted to play with color. The picture is fairly simple, and it is not my favorite. I mostly chose it because it was one of the pieces that I played most with lightroom and the effects.

Fourth Work in Lightroom

Process

Before

This picture also plays with perspective, light, and layers. I find the picture interesting because it is hard to separate the inside from the outside.

Fifth Work in Lightroom

Process

Before

This picture is not edited a lot. It is only made a little darker. I think this is my favorite because I really like the composition of the photo.

ComparisonPhotoshop Lightroom

Very challenging, but fun to experiment and play with when you understand.

Easy to learn, there are no courses needed to understand how it works.

There are many things to do and play around with in photoshop.

You can make a picture look completely different.

Time consuming.

Not a lot of skills needed when it comes to taking the photograph, but there are technical skills needed.

The options are limited.

The difference is not that big.

Does not take long to edit, but it does take time to take the picture.

There is a lot of skills needed to compose the moment you want the photo to capture.
