Introduction
An outline of the some of the new tools and networks that are available to geography teachers as part of the growing "SOCIAL
WEB". A range of web-based tools will be introduced
and demonstrated, followed by a chance to discuss possible uses for them in the
classroom, and the impact they might have on teaching and learning.

• Read – write web: interactive – user generated content (quality ?)
• Social web – moving from consumer to producer ( teachers and learners too ! ) & development of communities & streaming of media

How can you help ?
1. Encourage student cohort to join the GA Ning(s) – particularly the NQT Ning
2. Introduce student cohort to networks that are already in existence as a means of sharing and supporting each other
3. Pass details of students to me, so that I can add them to the lists of those “new to the Action Plan” and keep them updated as they start their teaching careers
4. As students make their way into schools, encourage them to identify colleagues who haven’t engaged with the Action Plan...
