Existing View:This viewpoint is located by Keepers Cottages, two fields to the east of the site at the junction of bridleways E-365/007/0 and E-365/006/0. The area surrounding the viewpoint is Registered Common Land and open access land. The viewpoint provides open views across arable farmland towards the eastern boundary of the site, with views into the site possible through the hedgerow on the site boundary. The A14 runs along the northern edge of the site, to the right of the image, with moving traffic and road signs clearly visible. Felixstowe Road is also visible to the left of the image. Keepers Cottages are surrounded by a close board fence and tall vegetation.

Operational Effects:Once constructed, part of the proposed development would be screened by a the landscape bund within the eastern part of the site. However, this would not run for the full length of the site boundary and there would remain some views of the proposed development. Over time, the proposed planting along the eastern boundary of the site would reinforce the existing boundary hedgerow and limit views of the proposed development to the tops of lighting columns and some taller vehicles. Effects would be of Medium-small scale and Adverse, reducing to Small scale as proposed planting begins to mature.

Construction and removal and reinstatement Effects:Some of the construction of the proposed development would be screened from view by the existing hedgerow along the south eastern boundary of the site. However, due to the fragmented nature of the hedgerow, some views would be possible between and through the hedgerow trees. The proposed lighting columns, as they are built, would be visible through and above the existing hedgerow, as would the buildings, shelters and covered search canopy. Effects would be of Medium scale and Adverse.

Existing View:This viewpoint looks towards the site from the south, from the junction of Bridge Road and footpath E-365/012/0. The viewpoint has open views across arable farmland, and an area that has been used for storage of materials, towards the woodland belt on the north side of the East Suffolk railway line, behind which lies Felixstowe Road and the site. Bridge Road is visible immediately behind the viewpoint, with large buildings and glass houses visible beyond the road.

Operational Effects:Much of the proposed development would remained screened from view by the woodland belt between Felixstowe Road and the railway line, with only the tops of some of the proposed lighting columns likely to be visible through or slightly above the tree belt. Effects would reduce to Negligible and Adverse.

Construction and removal and reinstatement effects:Much of the construction of the proposed development would be screened from view behind the woodland belt that runs between Felixstowe Road and the railway line. Some taller construction equipment may be visible above the woodland for limited periods of time, as well as the tops of the proposed lighting columns as those are built. On balance, effects would be Small-negligible and Adverse.

Existing View:This viewpoint is located north of the site on Footpath E-169/017/0, one field north of the A14. The footpath runs along the northern side of a hedgerow and has open views towards the site where there are gaps in the intermittent hedgerow. There is limited vegetation to provide screening along the A14 or field boundaries between the site and the viewpoint. Due to the elevated landform around the viewpoint, views towards and across the site feel open and expansive. Vegetation on the south western boundary of the site forms the horizon. Views are drawn to moving traffic on the A14, which crosses the middle distance of the view. There is an agricultural storage area adjacent to the viewpoint, beyond the right-hand extent of the view shown.

Operational Effects:Much of the proposed development would be visible from this viewpoint. Views would consist of fencing, parking areas and lighting columns within the site, as well as site buildings, shelters and the screen and search canopy, and some vehicle movement. These would be seen in the context of traffic movement along the A14, which would remain a prominent feature within this view. Proposed planting would be located along the northern boundary of the site and would begin to screen the lower elements of the proposed development as it becomes established. Effects would be Medium scale and Adverse, reducing to Small scale as proposed planting begins to mature.

Construction and removal and reinstatement effects:During construction the majority of the site would be visible from this viewpoint, but would be located beyond the moving traffic on the A14. Much of the construction machinery would be clearly visible and the proposed development would be visible as it is built, including the landscape bunds on the eastern and western boundaries of the site, the proposed lighting and the proposed buildings, shelters and covered search canopy. Effects would be of Medium scale and Adverse.

Existing View:This viewpoint is located to the north-west of the site, near to the entrance of Seven Hills Crematorium on the A1156. The viewpoint looks towards the site but is interrupted by the hedgerow in the foreground along the A1156, with the most noticeable feature being the movement of traffic in the immediate foreground. The tops of trees to the east of the viewpoint are visible above the hedgerow. Behind the viewpoint a tree belt containing a high proportion of evergreen species is located along the boundary of the Crematorium, preventing views into and out of it.

Operational Effects:Once operational, much of the proposed development would be screened from view by the existing landscape features. Taller elements of the proposed development, such as the lighting columns, may be visible during this phase, but would be seen behind the moving traffic on the A1156. Further screening would be provided by additional planting on the north western boundary of the site, but is unlikely to be able to obtain a height that would fully screen the lighting columns. Effects would remain of Small-negligible scale and Adverse.

Construction and removal and reinstatement effects:Much of the construction of the proposed development would be screened from view by the hedgerow along the A1156. Some taller construction equipment may be visible above the hedgerow, along with the tops of lighting columns as they are built. However larger trees within the field boundaries between the viewpoint and the site would provide additional screening. Effects would be of Small-negligible scale and Adverse.
