A PASTORAL UPDATE:

We want you to know about some decisions made recently which will impact Maria Bowers and JoAn

Kinrade. As of September, JoAn will be preaching on a regular basis at the Connect service. Maria will be a

regular at the two Traditional services assisting Stuart. We are also assigning primary pastoral care duties to Maria. What does this mean? It means that

Maria will be the pastor primarily responsible for hospital visitations and other pastoral needs,

conveying those to Stuart and JoAn as needed.

Please know that you can call on any of the pastors at any time and they will be happy to assist you when

there is a need. It is their honor to love and encourage you in your walk with Christ! Please keep

each of them in your prayers and they will do likewise for you!

WOMEN’S EVENING GALA

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17 | 5:30-8pm | $25

Guest Speaker: Kim Gravel from Kim of Queens. Kim was Miss Georgia in 1991. She went on to serve as US Goodwill Ambassador to Japan. She has taken her expertise and experience in the pageantry world and uses it to coach and train pageant contestants. She has a rare gift of encouraging and guiding people with loving directness. Kim finds the hidden gem in each young woman she works with and helps bring out those qualities.

It’s not about exploiting girls and making them into Barbie dolls…it’s good, wholehearted stories and life lessons mixed with humor and love.

You may have seen Kim on the Steve Harvey Show where she is a regular guest. Kim will deliver a message that will relate to young girls, 6th grade

and up, as well as women of all ages! Invite your daughters, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, & friends! | Tickets are now available from the Grove Committee members and the church

office. THIS EVENING WILL SELL OUT SO GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Decorate a table for 8: These do not have to be formal dinner settings. Whimsical, holiday, casual, seasonal, and fun settings are encouraged. Contact the church office or Karen Oothoudt if you want to decorate a table. Buy a table: This means purchasing 8 tickets ($200) and inviting 7 friends to join you for dinner! If you buy a table, you must also decorate it. Buy individual tickets: Come and join others for this night of great food, entertainment, and fellowship. Tickets: $25 (available from the church office and members of The Grove)

Life Groups are small groups of people (12 at the most) who meet together on a weekly or bi-weekly basis throughout the year. While these groups may do Bible studies, read books, and discuss their faiths, the primary purpose of the group is

relational…to “do life” together and have those around you who can support, encourage, and pray for you. We will be launching new Life Groups in a few

weeks. Please contact Rev. JoAn Kinrade ([email protected]) if you are interested in participating.

PRESCHOOL NEWS We had a successful Children’s Consignment Sale! The gross sales were $77,860 and

the preschool will keep 30%. The preschool will then give 10% of the profit to the church.

Thank you so much for your support of the sale! Avery Raptis (chair) and Jennifer Morrison (co-chair) did a wonderful job leading the sale! This fundraiser is a ministry in so many ways to a lot of people and I am thankful to

be a part of it.

In Science with Miss Betsy the children are studying the human body. Today we are talking about the human heart. Bo Collins (right) is listening to Miss

Roslyn’s heart!

Blessings,

-Nancy Martin
