MUSIC NOTES SUMMER CALENDAR All choirs are currently on break from rehearsals.

IT’S CHOIR REGISTRATION TIME It won’t be long and our choirs will be meeting again. Plan on making choir a part of your fall schedule. Register now for all children’s and Youth choirs by going to our website and clicking “music” under “ministries.” Fall calendars for each choir are also posted there.

Here’s a partial list of our choirs and when they begin rehearsing: -Chancel Choir – August 6 -Youth Choir – August 10 -Parish Choir – August 13 -Children’s Choirs – August 20 -David

NEW CHOIR ROBE CAMPAIGN The Chancel Choir is purchasing new choir robes! Our current robes are over 20 years old and in need of replacing. We are asking the congregation to prayerfully consider helping us fund the purchase of these robes which are $165 apiece. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one. Checks can be made out to the Newnan FUMC Choir Robe Fund. Thank you! –Katie Garrett, Dian Ciccarello, Bonnie Krider, Meg Madich (Choir Robe Committee)

COWETA COUNTY CHURCH HISTORY DAY: JULY 19TH RECAP Our church’s outstanding presentation was made possible by committee members Martin & Rhonda Pate, Jackie Stallings, Rev. CANCER CARE MINISTRY TRAINING Cancer Care Ministry will begin training on September 2nd from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Henry Kitchens classroom. All

who are interested in this ministry please plan on attending. Come and join us as we begin this compassionate cancer

CASSEROLES NEEDED FOR THE GROVE The Grove now has a freezer at the church to store

casseroles that would be immediately available to people who are in a medical or family crisis and need help with meals. If you are willing/able to make some casseroles,

contact Kelley Welden (770.845.8450). Casseroles can be meat or veggie and of any size. Not everyone needs a large

meal…smaller meals are needed as well. Please include ingredient information and cooking/reheating instructions.

STEPHEN MINISTRY TRAINING A new training class for Stephen Ministers will begin in

Come enjoy popsicles and fun in the park! Also, come hang out with Maria Bowers, our new Associate Pastor &

Minister to Children!

PROMOTION SUNDAY Promotion Sunday is August 10th! All children will be

promoted to their new classes. 2-year-olds and 3rd graders will receive their Bibles on this day as well!

VBS SAVE THE DATE FOR 2015 VBS 2015 has been scheduled for the week of June 8th!

CONFIRMATION CLASS SIGNUP Confirmation Class registrations are now open online.

SHEPHERD MAILING ISSUES It has come to our attention that some of you who receive a

mailed hard-copy of the Shepherd newsletter have either received a copy that has been torn/mishandled or not

received your copy at all. We are working with the post office to make sure that this gets corrected and that future
