GATHERING TOGETHER
CALL TO WORSHIP: based on Psalm 108 Tom Dawson
Leader: Our heart is confident in the LORD… People: Therefore, with our whole heart, with all we are, we will sing praise to
Him All: For the Lord’s faithful love is higher than the heavens, extending to
the ends of the earth. WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS PRELUDE * CONFESSING OUR FAITH: Tom Dawson
From A Brief Statement of Faith (The Book of Confessions) The same Holy Spirit, who inspired the prophets and apostles, rules our faith and life in Christ through Scripture, engages us through the Word of God, claims us in the waters of baptism, feeds us with the bread of life and the cup of salvation, and calls all of us to ministries in the Church and the world.
* GATHERING SONG: #507—I Come With Joy (summer hymn favorite) * PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Tom Dawson
based on “The Broken Heart” in The Valley of Vision O Lord, no day of our life passes without proving our brokenness and need of your mercy. Prayerless and thankless days. Our refusal to serve others. A heart and will set upon what moth and rust destroy. Defaulting to fear in the face of difficulties, anger when we are wronged, and seeing the speck in the eye of others while ignoring the beam of wood in our own. Speak, Lord, assuring us that by your stripes we are healed. And so, we confess our sins to you… (silent confession)
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON * GREETING ONE ANOTHER: Leader: May the peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you. CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE: #579—Glory Be to the Father SUMMER FAVORITES: #394—There is a Balm in Gilead
GROWING IN THE WORD
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 7:1-10 (pew Bible page 65) Pastor Steve CHILDREN’S MESSAGE SERMON: LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE: Seek and Seize Neighboring Moments PRESENTING TO GOD OUR GIFTS AND TITHES: (You are also invited to sign the friendship pad and pass along for others to do the same)
OFFERTORY * DOXOLOGY Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. PASTORAL PRAYER (Prayers of the People)
GOING INTO THE WORLD * SENDING SONG: #302—I Danced in The Morning (summer hymn favorite)

TPW and Evangelism Committee will again have a booth at the Middletown Family Fun Festival, September 7th (6 to 10 pm) and 8th (10 am to 9 pm). We will be spreading the good news about Trinity with hand crafted items for sale, pencils, and brochures. A work schedule has been posted on the TPW bulletin board, and all are welcome to volunteer!
It is a special opportunity to reach out to neighbors. The TPW Circle will resume September 11, at 10:30 am to begin the study of Hebrews. All women of our congregation are members of TPW and invited to attend and participate in all our functions as you are able. TPW is in need of a Treasurer to w rite checks, balance the checking accounts and prepare monthly reports. If you cannot attend meetings on Tuesdays, we can work with you according to your schedule. Please be in prayer for us to fill this position, which is critical to TPW ministry!! Contact Jan Larsen, Mardi Crosser, or Sandra Hollensead for more information.
