Scripture Luke 2:41-52 (NKJV) 41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; 44 but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” 49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. 51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. 1 Samuel 2:18-20, 26 (NKJV) 18 But Samuel ministered before the Lord, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod. 19 Moreover his mother used to make him a little robe, and bring it to him year by year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. 20 And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “The Lord give you descendants from this woman for the loan that was given to the Lord.” Then they would go to their own home. 26 And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men. Colossians 3:12-17 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE: During the height of Flu season, if you feel uncomfortable shaking hands during the right hand of fellowship, simply say hello to the people around you Our Church Schedule WEEKLY SCHEDULE Sunday 9:45 a.m. 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Opening Exercise Sunday School Worship Wednesday 8:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Men’s Breakfast (Stratford Station Grill) Choir Rehearsal Thursday 11:30 p.m. New Year’s Watch Night Service (Fairview Moravian) Friday ALL DAY CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED – HOLIDAY COMING EVENTS January 3 11:00 a.m. Communion & Leadership Board Installation January 9 9:00 a.m. Leadership Board Retreat (Church Office) January 12 11:00 a.m. Marvelous Moravians Planning Meeting & Luncheon (Fellowship Building) January 16 9:30 a.m. Women’s Fellowship Executive Board Meeting (Fellowship Building) January 17 12:00 p.m. Women’s Fellowship General Meeting (Fellowship Building) BIRTHDAYS December 28 December 30 December 31 January 1 January 2 Mike Hastings Rosie Sloan Nita Capone Candance Jones Diane Saunders Jake Davis Rebecca Rath N.T. CMC Bulletin Board COPING WITH GRIEF DURING THE HOLIDAYS – We have one Grief Class remaining: January 3, 2016 (12:15-1:45 PM) in the Church Office. A sign up sheet is posted on the CHURCH FAMILY LIFE Bulletin Board. NEW YEAR’S WATCH NIGHT SERVICE – will be held on December 31 at 11 PM at Fairview Moravian Church with the Rev. Russ May leading the service. NOTE FROM THE TREASURER: As we all scramble to make year-end contributions to the Church or other charities, please remember that in order for a charitable contribution to be deducted in 2015, it must be “delivered” in 2015. This means that year-end checks must be dated in 2015 and either physically delivered to the Church by year end or mailed and postmarked by December 31, 2015. Checks that are dated in 2015 but not mailed or delivered to the Church until 2016 should be treated as 2016 contributions UNITY PRAYER WATCH - The Moravian Church has experienced spiritual renewal and strength through a covenant of prayer. In 1727, the church in Herrnhut, Germany covenanted for an “hourly intercession” which continued for 100 years with great blessing to the entire Moravian Church. As we prepare for observing the prayer watch across our province, the Provincial Elders’ Conference asks that you plan with your congregation’s Board for your congregation’s local observance. Christ Moravian Church has been assigned the date of January 5, 2016 from Midnight to 8 AM as our local observance. LEADERSHIP BOARD RETREAT – The LB will have a planning meeting on Saturday, January 9, 2016 beginning at 9 AM with breakfast in the Church Office. MARVELOUS MORAVIANS – The Marvelous Moravians will have a planning meeting on Tuesday, January 12, beginning at 11 AM in the Fellowship Building. Lunch will be provided. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING – The WF Executive Board will meet on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9:30 AM – 12 PM in the Fellowship Building. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP GENERAL MEETING – The WF General Meeting will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 after worship in the Fellowship Building. Lunch will be provided.
