achie4es their synthesis of Neoplatonic

be rendered. This Nameless 9ein- seems torepresent the $er5an A8anana (&9oundless

Time&* of the $oroastrian system3

but...some confusion exists here3 and

different teachin-s 5ere current amon-stthe Isma&ilis3 5hich3 ho5e4er3 a-reed in

this3 that3 to uote Nu5ayri&s expression3

&those 5ho adopted them could no lon-erbe rec8oned other5ise than amon-st the

"ualists and %aterialists&. The proselyte is

also tau-ht that a 6rophet is 8no5n as suchnot by miracles3 but by his ability to

construct and impose in a 8ind of system at

once political3 social3 reli-ious3 andphilosophical...He is further tau-ht to

understand alle-orically the end of the5orld3 the !esurrection3 Future !e5ards

and 6unishments3 and other eschatolo-icaldoctrines.1


Ninth Degree

to adopt such system or admixture as may

be most to his taste.1
