Please note that the Commencement of Compliance Ac&ons starts in September 2014.
Schools are expected to be taking appropriate steps towards compliance by:
A) Compiling mandatory documentary evidence such as the Compliance Manual, Safety signs, CBC cer.ficate of par.cipa.on for the appropriate number of staff, specific school safety infrastructures etc.
B) Subscribing to the free school safety newsleRer (School Safety Hub) and the school safety portal for uploading and retrieving necessary school safety compliance informa.on
C) Observing safe recruitment guidelines
D) Conduc.ng self assessment reviews or reques.ng school safety audits and so on.

1 General: Safety Management/Commitment
Evidence of clear, consistent and leadership to minimising risks and incidents; Approved policies and documentation, evidence of site security and insurance
2 Safety Infrastructure Evidence of defined safety teams; approved training plans, approved safety signs, sick bay, first aid, adequate facilities and supplies, fire exits, CHOSHH; Evidence of adequate lighting, ventilation, sanitary facility and safe recruitment.
3 Physical Environment Evidence of approved building plan; planning and organisation of the school environment, the school day; electrical safety, exits being clear of obstructions and general tidiness of the environment, Pest Control
