The years at Italian High School are five.

Our school begins with the first two “Gimnasium” years and goes on with the last three years of high school called “Liceo”.

The students attending the first two years are aged 14-15 while senior students are 16-19 years old.

Our school timetable goes from Monday to Saturday (yes, we go to school on Saturday!) and we attend lessons from 8:00 to 13:00 or 14:00 depending on the day and the class.

All of our students go on to university when they leave our school.

Francavilla Fontana is also known as the Imperiali Town after the princes that ruled the town for about two centuries (1572-1782) bringing the feud to the height of its power and making it one of the major cultural and industrial centres of the Salento area(in the XVIII the town was appointed district capital).

After the 1743 earthquake which reduced the Chapel of the Virgin to rubble, the Imperiali family had the Mother Church built on the same spot. This was a very big construction, with the highest dome in the whole of the Salento area.
