    RENDEZVOUS TROPHY

    Description of Rendezvous Trophy

    The participating colleges will be competing for the Overall Champions Trophy at Rendezvous.Colleges will be awarded points based on their position in various category events. The collegewith the maximum aggregate score gets to lift the trophy.

    The events are divided into two broad categories:1) Mega Events : These include OAT events namely Spectrum and Kaleidoscope (Lifestyle and

    Choreography are independent events)2) BRCA club events: Encompasses all the inter college competitive events organized by the 9

    clubs at IIT. These are further divide into three categories.

    Given below is the complete description of points associated with the various events.

    Note: No points will be awarded for participation or for qualifying in the prelims

    Important Guidelines for All Participants Any form of Obscenity, Plagiarism and Profanity will be severely PENALIZED and may also lead to

    DISQUALIFICATION of the team/ individual from further participation.

    Rendezvous, IIT Delhi reserves all rights to update, change and/or cancel any of the above mentioned rules,event prize and the events in case of unforeseen circumstances.

    Participants are requested to check the final rules and stay updated for any revisions and theme announcementsfor particular events on the official website,www.rendezvous11.in

    Organizers of events reserve the right to accept or reject the entries without assigning any reasons. Judgingprocedures will not be questionable.

    In case of any dispute, all decisions by the event organizers at IITD will be final and binding on all participants. The prizes projected will be awarded by the organizers at the earliest possible (preferably immediately after the

    events). The organizers commit to honor the projected prizes for the winners immediately upon receipt of

    committed funds from the sponsors.

    SPECTRUM (Group Dance) Mega EventRules for spectrum Teams would be required to submit a 5 minute video of their performance to proveauthenticity. The last date for the submission is 10th of October. On the basis of the video, teams will beselected for performance in the preliminary rounds for Spectrum.Prelims

    The maximum time allowed for the performance is 8 minutes. (Should be a part of team's finalperformance.)

    There is No restriction on the team size, however there must be at least 4 members on stage at anypoint during the performance.

    Free style dance (all kinds of dances allowed). There is restriction on the use of fire or any inflammable object and glass shatter on stage There are no marks for costumes as well as props in the prelims. The teams must bring CDs for the music (audio format) or songs in a laptop. Out of all, a total of 8

    teams will be selected for final round.Spectrum Finals

    The First round is a free style dancing round in which all kinds of dance are allowed. Maximum time allowed for the performance is 18 minutes. Teams exceeding this time will be

    penalized. A Minimum of 6 members must be on stage at any time during the performance. There is restriction on the use of fire or any inflammable object and glass shatter on stage Shortlisted teams will be informed about the second round later.

    CHOREOGRAPHY Mega EventRules for Choreography The teams MUST have a theme and accompanying costumes for the event. NO props are allowed during the performance. The music should not contain any lyrics .Only aalaps and table bols are allowed. The music should be submitted 2 days before the prelims, so that any discrepancies can be checked

    for. Teams must have a minimum of 8 performers. Teams would be given a slot of 10 minutes including setup time in the prelims to perform a small

    sequence of their final performance. The teams would be marked on the following criteria:

    1. Dance2. Concept and depiction3. Costumes4. Innovation5. Coordination and Synchronization

    The prelims performance MUST be a part of the final performance, which can be any sequence. 5-6 teams would qualify for the final event. Maximum time slot for the final performance is 25 minutes and the minimum is 13 minutes. This

    includes stage setup time of 5 minutes.

    LIFESTYLE AND TRENDZ - THE FASHION SHOW

    Event description:5 teams would be selected on the basis of their performance in TRENDZ to walk on the ramp in the

    LIFESTYLE event, to be judged by prominent personalities in the field of fashion. All teams should report

    for TRENDZ, as no direct entry to LIFESTYLE would be allowed.

    Colleges are expected to bring with them, all the apparels, props and music CDs necessary for the event.

    IIT Delhi would not provide anything to the participants.

    Rules for the Lifestyle & Trendz :

    Maximum number of contestants in a team should be20. Teams would be given points on the basis of

    their performance in 5 major categories:

    Theme Formation Music Dresses Walk

    The slot for TRENDZ is 10 minutes, including setup time and minimum 5 minutes of performance time.

    Maximum number of participants in TRENDZ can be 12. The TRENDZ performance MUST be a part ofthe LIFESTYLE performance, and not something different. Judging is on the basis of the walk; no dance

    movements should be made.

    The slot for LIFESTYLE is a maximum of 15 minutes performance time and 5 minutes setup time.

    Dance and Dramatics Club Parth Goel- 9990254283English / Hindi Stage Play Category

    A

    The two events are independent of each other. However the rules are same for both.

    There will be 2 rounds- Prelims and finals, slots of prelims will be of 20 min for each team. The judging criteria for prelims will not be based on Lights, Costumes, backdrops and props. Sole

    criterion will be script and its depiction.

    Teams must mail their scripts [email protected] [email protected] There is no strict limit on duration of play but one act plays are preferable (30 min- 70 min) There is no limit on number of participants Obscenity - The judges can award negative points and even disqualify the entry if they find any act

    objectionable. ONLY one team from each college/institute is allowed to participate in each play (English and Hindi

    separate entries are allowed).

    The Institute holds rights to amend any of the aforementioned rules if needed.Street play or Nukkad Natak Category B There will be 2 rounds- Prelims and finals, slots of prelims will be of 5-10 min for each team. The duration of the play maximum 25 min. Number of participants- maximum 25 (including musicians) Use of Props other than chunni and lathi is strictly not allowed. Obscenity - The judges can award negative points and even disqualify the entry if they find any act

    objectionable. The Institute holds rights to amend any of the aforementioned laws if needed.Couple Dance Category C

    There will be 2 rounds In the first round the teams will be given 2-3 minutes to perform. The teams that will be selected for the final will be given 3-5 minutes to perform The teams must bring their songs in a CD in audio format.Street Dance Category C There will be 2 rounds. In the first round the teams will be given a maximum time of 6 minutes to perform. The teams that will be selected for the final will face in a battle round. The teams must bring their songs in a CD in audio format.

    Clash of the Titans Category- A It is an individual event. Maximum number of participants -200

    The event will span over three days, consisting of following three rounds

    1st Round Extempore Debate (Open to all) 2nd Round Prepared Debate (Participants selected from 1st round) 3rd Round Parliamentary Debate (Top 2 finalists against each other)

    Airplane Category- B It is an individual event.

    This event has an interesting framework

    There is a plane which is crashing and has only 1 parachute. This plane has all kinds of celebrities, who will have to fight it out to get the parachute. Use your debating skills in a fight for survival on this Airplane!

    J.A.M. Just a Minute Category-B The JAM Master is God.

    In case of any doubts, refer to rule no.1.

    The duration of the event and the number of participants will be decided by the JAM Master.

    Word Wizardry Category- C Only three member teams will participate.

    There is no team cap in this event.

    E-llusion Category- C An individual event.

    Registration can be done on any day and you can play the game whenever you like.

    Colossal Crosswords Category-C An individual event. No registration is required, you can just walk in and enjoy!

    Two different crosswords will be put up on two days during Rendezvous.

    Rangoli Making Competition Category -B Teams of 3-4; On the spot theme ; Time limit : 3 hours Size of Rangoli : approx. 4 feet * 4 feet Rangoli colours, A-4 sheets, ball pens, chalks & black marker would be provided by club, no extra

    material is allowed during the event, however some special technique can be used during the eventusing some instruments (if you want to).

    No external help like internet is allowed during the event.Tattoo Making Competition Category- C

    Teams of 2-3; On the spot theme ; Time limit : 3 hours No size limit but tattoo must be made above the waist and below the knees. Black Sketch Pens, Poster colours, brushes, A4 sheets & ball pens will be provided by the club. Any

    other material is strictly prohibited No external help like internet is allowed during the event.Street Painting Competition Category -A Teams of 4-5; On the spot theme ; Time limit : 3-4 hours Prelims may be held depending on the number of registrations. In prelims, the team has to paint the

    same design which it is going to make during the street painting on an A-4 sheet using poster colours

    and markers. Size : (5 ft*5 ft) to (7 ft*7 ft) Material will be provided by the organizers. However team can bring its own material. No external help like internet is allowed during the event.Portrait Making Competition Category- B Time limit : 3 hours Size limit : A3 size Single entry by one person. ( No teams) Material would be provided by the club i.e. pencils of different shades, erasers, sharpeners and sheets,

    no other material is allowed during the event No external help like internet is allowed during the event.Sticky Stick Structure Category- C Teams of 2-3; On spot theme; Time limit of 3-4 hours Sticks of different shapes and sizes, Fevicol, Toothpicks, Al pins. Some other material may also be

    provided by the club. No other material other than provided by the club is allowed. No external help like internet is allowed during the event.

    Ad Making Category- B

    One Ad per team; duration should be between 30-90 seconds The procedure of submission shall be given along with theme on the website.

    Documentary Making Category-A

    One Documentary per team; duration should not exceed 18 minutes Films may be made in any language. However, if they are in a language other than English/Hindi,

    subtitles must be provided.

    Any type of camera may be used for the purpose of filming.

    Jeopardy Category- BMeans an 'evenly divided game'. 3 member teams, all members from same college; 2 tier event Prelims: written round from which 8 teams will be selected The final round shall be again of the infinite bounds format, however the teams shall need to select a

    topic (for eg. sports, movies, politics etc.) & from a grid. There shall be varying level of questions from each topic with a harder question being unlocked only

    when easier levels have been attempted. The quiz shall be hosted by reputed external quizmasters.

    Kombat Category-None (open quiz)Kombat is the only open quiz on the offering and follows the format of old school quizzing. Teams of at most 3 members, with no restriction on team composition. 8 finalists selected based on their score in a written preliminary round.Theme Quiz Category- C This the only genre specific quiz in Rendezvous Theme would be revealed 2 weeks before the event Teams of at most 3 members, College I-Cards are must 8 finalists selected based on their score in a written preliminary round The finalists will then contest for the top spotSphinx Quiz Category- A 3 member teams, all members from same college. Presenting you with the AV Quiz on the roster,Zoom In. A written preliminary round from which 8 teams of 3 members each shall be selected. All members of a team should be from the same college.     Team of 3 members; Time duration : 60 minutes Event would consist of written paper containing questions on Kakuro, Sudoku, etc.Pixel Palette Category -B Individual event. You will be given seven pictures. Design an innovative poster using at least 4 of the 7 pictures; Submission format JPEG (800x600 pixels) The poster should necessarily contain one phrase in English/Hindi which should explain the theme. A text file highlighting the complete procedure including the software and the filter option used

    should be submitted along with the image

    Only the use of brushes, filters etc. existing there in the software is permitted. Source files must besaved as these may be required in case of clarification if any.

    REGISTRATION: This is a pre-rendezvous event. Entries are to be submitted online by the 18th ofOctober. One participant can send a maximum of 3 different entries if they want to.

    Participants have to design an image on any software of their choice (like Photoshop) on a giventheme and some specifications, which shall be declared soon.

    Click !! Category A Theme will be given 15 days before rendezvous. Each individual has to submit three photographs according to the theme with a caption for each

    stay on the board for at least five seconds after a player's final throw to count. The board will be set up with the bulls eye exactly5 feet 8 inches from the floor. The marked line will roughly be at a distance of 8ft from the board. A player throwing a dart from a position on either side of the marked line shall keep his or her feet

    behind an imaginary straight line extending on either side of the raised marked line. A throw does not score if it sticks into another dart or if it falls off the board.Abstract Photography Category C Participants should bring their own camera.
