Proactive Disclosure

(i) The particulars of the organization, functions and duties.

Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC), Chandkheda is a government institute

under Commissionerate of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat. With an established

reputation as one of the leading engineering institutes of Gujarat state, VGEC-Chandkheda,

Ahmedabad has become the first choice for many students willing to pursue B.E. or M.E., to

build their career as an Engineer.

The Institute was established in August 1994, with an objective of imparting higher education in

various fields of engineering and technology. This institute is recognized by All India Council of

Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college is administrated by Commissionerate of

Technical Education, Government of Gujarat and is affiliated to Gujarat Technological

University (GTU).

In 2005 the college was shifted at its new campus at Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. The new campus

has total 14 blocks with built-up area of 31,000 sq. meter (approx).Campus also has a facility of

separate Girls and Boys Hostel for the students coming from outside of the city.

Vision:

To impart state of art engineering knowledge to the students by continuous improvement in the

existing curriculum and also in the infrastructure facility to make overall growth, which will

raise the acceptability of the staff and students by the beneficiaries.

Mission:

To achieve academic excellence and provide a platform for the student community to realize

their dreams through world class technical education. To bring recognition to the college at the

national level and help students build career in the conventional and emerging technological

fields.


Mandate:

The college is to offer engineering courses at various levels to cater to the current and future

needs of the industry and society. The college is to work in the direction of sustainable

development of technical education.

Duties:

various branches as per GTU teaching scheme.
