1. General Description 1.1 Product Overview and Functional Description
EMW Co., Ltd. Introduces the high performance ISO/IEC 24771 KOINONIA Binary CDMA
compliant Ethernet bridge – EBM-B100. The compact size and low power consumption of this
system is targeted to IP Camera or Wireless digital video recording(DVR) and security applications.
EBM-B100 is a KOINONIA wireless personal area networks(WPAN) implementation providing
improved link robustness, extended range, increased throughput and better performance against
existing technology such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
EBM-B100 adopts Daewoo’s highly-integrated Binary CDMA Baseband SoC---KWPAN1200A and
high performance Airoa AL2230S RFIC. The KWPAN1200A Baseband SoC is a high performance
single-chip medium-access controller(MAC) and baseband processor that is compliant with
KOINONIA wireless personal area networks(WPAN) spec ver.1.0/ver.1.1/ver2.0. The AL2230S is a
highly integrated RF transceiver IC for 2.4GHz band 802.11b/g applications, and combines all
functions of the transceiver in a single chip. AL2230S also integrates on-chip PA and PLL to help
you to minimize the use of external components to design an RF subsystem.
Compliance with ISO/IEC 24771 KOINONIA Binary CDMA standard, the EBM-B100 uses QPSK
baseband modulation technologies and supports Hardware-Based MAC Access Protocol
Management, Delayed Acknowledgement (DEL-ACK), Hardware-Generated Immediate
Acknowledgement (IMM-ACK), Channel Probing and Dynamic Link Quality Control. EBM-B100
security supports Hardware-Based Encryption/Decryption using CCM(CTR+CBC-MAC) Mode that
use the 128- bit AES as a Block Cipher Algorithm. (User selectable, default disable)

7. Antenna Description
EMW FSC045-2 is circularly polarized antenna for Ethernet Bridge (EBM-B100) applications. High
Gain (3 dBic Typical) and broad Beamwidth (90° Typical) increases read range while low VSWR
(≤1.5:1) minimizes wasted power in Ethernet Bridge systems. The antenna’s light weight (30g) and
small size (45ⅹ45ⅹ2 mm) are ideal for Ethernet Bridge (EBM-B100) applications.
