The respiratory sytem is a group of organs that work together to help us breathe.

Air enters our lungs through the nose, mouth,pharynx,

trachea, and bronchi.

We breathe in air through our nose and mouth.

The air goes down through the pharynx and the trachea.

Oxygen passes through the alveoli to the lungs.

The diaphragm is a muscle below the lungs that moves when we breathe.

Oxygen passes to the blood in the circulatory system where it moves around our body.

We breathe in oxygen.

Then we breathe out carbon dioxide.
