THE ROTARY CLUB OF RENOPresents

Salvation Army Bell Ringing Day

It is that time again, the annual Salvation Army Bell Rotary Bell Ringing Day is upon us. Our club will be manning both entrances to the Walmart on Kietzke Lane from 9:00am until 4:00pm, on Saturday December 13, 2014. There will be three time slots, 9:00 tp 11:30, 11:30 to 2:00 and 2:00 to 4:00. I will need four Rotar-ians and/or their Guests for each time slot. If you can attend, please let me know how many and which time slot you prefer. I will do my best to accommodate the time preferences.

Thank you ~ Donal Hummer

Join us on Saturday December 13!

Thanks to the incredible outpouring of support from Rotarians and others to support the Wreaths Across America project, we will have a wreath for every grave site in the Northern Nevada Veteran’s Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada on December 13, 2014!

In 2012, it was 1,200 wreaths. In 2013, it was 3,600 wreaths. In 2014, we will have over 5,000 wreaths.

Many thanks to those who sponsored wreaths to honor our fallen heroes. And many thanks to those who sponsored wreaths to also honor Sparks Rotarian Bob Lord, who led the effort in 2013. Bob Lord had a vision before his passing that we would place a wreath on every grave site in Fernley, and on December 13, 2014, we will do just that.

Every Rotarian along with your family and friends are invited to join us at the Northern Nevada Veteran’s Cemetery in Fernley for the ceremony that will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 13 and to participate in placing wreaths on the grave sites of veterans to honor and remember each of them.

If you would like to join us for an early breakfast before going to the ceremony, we plan to meet at the Black Bear Diner on McCarran in Sparks between 6:45 and 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, departing no later than 7:45 a.m.

To get to the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, take I-80 East to Fernley, and take exit 48. The Cemetery is just north of I-80, and once you exit the freeway, turn left on Truck Inn Way, left on Mission Way and right on Veterans.

We suggest you plan to arrive by 8:15 a.m. and dress warmly for the anticipated cold temperatures.

Thank you,

PDG Vicki Puliz [email protected] 775-378-5914

How To Introduce Your Guests And

New Members At A Club Meeting

When introducing a guest or new members during a Club meeting, the correct way is to greet the Club President, fellow Rotarians and guests, introduce yourself and state your classifi cation, and then introduce your guest, their title and business affi liation. Please do not introduce any guest as a prospective new member or that they are looking for a position or clients.

Attendance And Make Up Reminder

Don’t forget that you need to attend or make up at least 50% of club regular meetings in each half of the year (rolling six months) and attend at least 30% of this club’s meetings in each half of the year. A list of E-Clubs can be found at http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_pdf/eclub_list.pdf Just click on this link and it will lead you to others.

There are a variety of clubs listed, but all must offer at least 30 minutes of content for any makeup. For additional information, please check out http://www.rotary.org/en/members/generalinformation/PilotClubsAnde-clubs/Pages/ridefault.aspx
