Last Thursday, the people of England and Wales voted to leave the EU. Scotland and Northern Ireland voted by a significant margin to remain.

Now Scotland is considering ways to stay in the EU, including breaking away from the Union.

Voices in Northern Ireland are already calling for reunification with the Republic of Ireland in order to do the same. Who knows whether this will reopen old wounds!

Remember the predictions before the Referendum?Gibraltar also voted overwhelmingly to stay in the EU. What happens now? Will Spain finally prevail?

As the days and weeks go by people will start to see that this vote also affects the UK’s overseas territories in the Caribbean.

So, what happens next!

People want more information! What this Referendum has done is galvanise those people who may have felt alienated from the political process. They have connected with the arguments, for good or ill, and voted accordingly. Now they have seen that their votes do matter!

In the aftermath of the Referendum, people are now realising that they may have made their decision based on misinformation, or worse!

More than ever, people need relevant, reliable information. They want to be part of the conversation.

LET’S KEEP TALKING!

The current economic climate has prompted calls for UK businesses to look beyond the EU’s internal market for trading opportunities but SMEs have cited the lack of information, skilled labour and financial resources as major barriers to trading internationally.

Our short talks and seminars aim to highlight potential trade and investment opportunities in the Caribbean for SMEs and other stakeholders.
