Dove and Robin Ward
We aim to provide the highest standards of care for patients whilst working collaboratively with them to improve the quality of their lives, and to help them attain the maximum level of independence possible.
Our first priority is to ensure that our patients enjoy the same right to a happy and fulfilled life as anyone else and to achieve:
• Positive risk management to assess levels of historical clinical risk
• Progression through a personalised care pathway towards increased independence
• Reductions in behaviours that challenge
• Improvements in psychotic and functional mental health symptoms
• Acquisitions of daily living skills
• Attainment of tolerance and coping skills
• Increased social and communication skills and improved community integration
Both Robin and Dove ward use a recovery-focused approach to enable patients to develop skills that will support social inclusion, making their own choices, and achieving optimum independence and quality of life.
Dove Ward is a 15 bedded male only unit split into an 11 bedded main ward and a 4 bedded standalone unit called `Dovecote'. Dovecote supports patients who are progressing towards discharge into the community.
The unit has 4 bedrooms with full en-suite facilities, a lounge and a kitchenette to allow patients privacy and a quiet space to relax and aid recovery.
Dovecote is an integral part of Dove Ward and is managed and supervised by the care team. Patients are assessed prior to moving to Dovecote to ensure that the facility meets their needs on their recovery pathway.
