Good morning classmates, today you are about to witness a presentation on globalization. This presentation will compare and contrast all the different aspects and effect of globalization. Enjoy!1Introduction

The countries that will be discussed in this presentation are Kenya, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and China.2Population

The population in China is the highest (over 1.2 billion)

The population in Brazil is second (about 200 million)

The population in Canada is very low. ( under 35 million)

The population in Kenya and Saudi Arabia is also small, averaging about 40 million.The population in China is incredibly high.

The population in Brazil is also fairly high.

The population in Canada is very low in relativity to its size.

The population in Kenya and Saudi Arabia is about average for their size and sustainability3Land AreaCanada, China, and Brazil have s very large, diverse land mass.

Saudi Arabia and Kenya encompass a much smaller land mass.

Canada, China, and Brazil have a very large, diverse land mass.

Saudi Arabia and Kenya have much less land mass making their country more manageable.

China, Brazil and Kenya, have a great deal of arable land. (11 percent)

Canada has a less arable land. (4 percent)

Saudi Arabia has a very small amount of arable land. (1 percent)China, Brazil and Kenya, have a great deal of arable land allowing them to support a large population.

Canada has a very small population in comparison with its land mass and barely requires any arable land to achieve sustainability.

Saudi Arabia also has a small population and can easily provide for its people by importing goods with the wealth of the countrys resources5Adult Prevalence Rates

Many African regions have been devastated by the HIV/Aids virus.

HIV is only a concern in Africa.

Many countries continue to provide false information.

Many African regions have been devastated by the HIV/Aids virus. This deadly virus destroys your immune system and has no cure.

HIV is only a concern in Africa and has not become an issue anywhere else around the globe. This mass disease is mostly due to the extreme amounts of poverty and lack of hygiene.

Many countries have provided false information about this disease for various reasons. The most prominent reason is because having the virus is seen as a detriment to a country in todays world.

6Population Below the Poverty Line

Poverty is very prevalent in Kenya.

The Americans and Chinese have a lower rate of poverty.

Saudi Arabia has not released any information.Poverty is very prevalent in Kenya and much of Africa due to the Continents stability and economy.

The Americas and China have a drastically lower poverty rate.

Saudi Arabia has not released any information relating to poverty.

7Literacy Rates

The literacy rate of Canada is almost 100%

The literacy rate of China is also particularly high.

The literacy rates of Brazil, Kenya, and Saudi Arabia are much lower.The literacy rate of Canada is almost 100% making the country almost ideal for education.

The literacy rates of Brazil, Kenya, and Saudi Arabia are all considerably lower harming the long term goals of the countries.

8Unemployment Rates

The unemployment of Canada, Brazil, China and Saudi Arabia is fairly low.

The unemployment rate of Kenya is devastatingly high.The unemployment of Canada, Brazil, China and Saudi Arabia is fairly low and very reasonable which can only lead to success for these countries.

The unemployment rate of Kenya is devastatingly high, greatly damaging the countries stability.

9Stock of Direct Foreign Investment

Canadas F.D.I. is quite high

Chinas F.D.I. is incredibly high

The F.D.I. in Brazil is about average.

The F.D.I. in Saudi Arabia is actually quite low.

The F.D.I. in Kenya is near zero.The stock of foreign direct investment in China is incredibly high providing a massive boost to the economy.

The stock of foreign direct investment in Canada in comparison with their population is also extremely high.

The F.D.I. in Brazil is about average for a country of their size

The F.D.I. in Saudi Arabia is actually quite low in correlation to the countrys influence and G.D.P. This is largely due to the countrys laws and culture.

The F.D.I. in Kenya is near zero, surely because of the countrys crumbling economy and infrastructure.

10Median Age

The median age in Canada is very high.

The median age in Brazil and China are about average.

The median age in Saudi Arabia and Kenya is very low. The median age of Canada is very high, partly due to an excellent health care system.

The median age of Brazil and China are about average.

The median age of Saudi Arabia and especially Kenya is despairingly low, damaging the welfare of the countries in the long term.

11G.D.P. per Capita

The G.D.P. per capita of Canada is incredibly high.

The G.D.P. of Saudi Arabia is also high.

The G.D.P. of Brazil and China are significantly lower.

Finally the G.D.P. of Kenya is dreadfully low.The G.D.P. per capita of Canada is incredibly high, creating a life of luxury.

The G.D.P. of Saudi Arabia is comparable to Canada and also very comfortable.

The G.D.P. of Brazil and China are significantly lower than that of Canada and Saudi Arabia but is fairly tolerable.

Finally the G.D.P. of Kenya is dreadfully low. It would be almost impossible for the majority of the population to survive.

An exception to this is when countries have a great deal of employment that does not require literacy skills such as manual labour.

It Allows for instant information to be accessed.

Integrates and expresses the different cultures.What are the effects of globalization? There are many effects, both negative and positive. Lets begin with the negative.

Globalization transfers domestic jobs and replaces them with extensive cheap labor and sweatshops around the globe. It makes countries more dependent on each other for various items. It allows for a catastrophic failure because so many countries depend on each other. Finally globalization allows for factories and pollution in developing countries harming their stability and growth.

Next, is the positive effects. Globalization allows for an integrated world market and a free exchange of goods. It also permits for a much broader access for a range of foreign products. It allows for instant information to be accessed across the globe. Lastly, Globalization Integrates and expresses the different cultures around the world, and allows for a World Culture

Overall, I believe that the positive effects do outweigh the negative effects of Globalization. What do you believe?
