President’s Message
I was so happy and excited to see the number of guests at our April meeting! You ladies are doing a great job of getting some new people to come join our group. I hope this trend will continue especially after the Expo. I’ve been told by Claudia Puccinelli that all the tables have been sold! That is also excit-ing!!
Thanks to Diana Cooper for a wonderful presen-tation on Business Plans. I, myself, was inspired to go home and make a plan with my partners to do a new Business Plan and write down some goals for our business. If you missed it, you should consider going to the workshop Diana is going to offer in the Fall to help you write a plan for your business. She will notify us of the details, so keep an eye on your email and sign up early. I’m sure the workshop will fill up. Diana is amazing! I look forward to having her as part of our network now that she has finished her “duty” of speaking! Hahaha
Please keep selling your raffle tickets for the Expo! Tammy Hammond and Laura Jennings have more tickets for you if you sell all the ones you have now. We need to make a lot of money for our scholarship fund for the Fall. Invite all your friends, coworkers, neighbors, enemies, and strangers, everyone you see to come to the Expo. The more peo-ple we have attending the more exposure for our businesses and our network.
Finally I would like to ask that all members please pay attention to the deadlines for calling in your reservations for meetings. If you are bringing a guest, we need to know that too. We had quite a few people show up without calling in last month and we have a few who called in on Monday or Tuesday after the deadline. We want you to come for sure! However if you do not call in by Sunday night, you can always come for meeting only. Just realize that we will not be able to accommodate you for a meal if you did not make a reservation.
Keep up the great work with bringing more guests and talking up our network!! Let’s make 2017 our best year, our growing year, rebuilding year, exciting year!! I need your help to do that! Again, please reach out to me if you need help with anything concerning the network.
Have a great start to May with our beautiful weather. Do something positive to build your business and I will see ALL of you May 24th at the Expo.
Becky Selbee, President
OUR MISSION STATEMENT AND PURPOSE
To provide an opportunity for women to meet regularly in order to build their businesses through
networking and to foster the development of women in the community through social networking
and scholarship opportunities. We shall provide social and educational meetings, which will focus
on business opportunities and development for women.
Thank you Diana Cooper
For helping us with our business plan
NETWORKING WORKS
Give thanks to another member of the network for services or products they have provided to you.
Networking Works gives us the opportunity to “water” our
friends business, which in turn helps to make it grow.
When her business grows she will share the bounty with
you and other businesses.
We all need to give thanks to each other and Networking
Works is the perfect place to do so.
BULLETIN BRIEFS AND BUSINESS TIPS
Tell us what is happening in your business or share a professional tip or success story.
One of the things I do to get the most out of the women's network, is to take the time to meet the new women at our meetings, exchange information with them, and set a time to meet with them one-on-one for coffee. That allows me to get to know them and their business better, and if they're new to the area and/or to business, I also share with them other networking opportunities, such as chamber mixers, etc. Being of service to our guests and new members always pays off, and they're more likely to come back if they have more familiar friendly faces to welcome them.

I’ve recently earned a new designation for
my real estate business, SRES (Seniors
Real Estate Specialist). This coursework
provides insight into the unique needs
and considerations of our senior buyers
and sellers. By the way, I’m never too
busy for your referrals of friends and fam-
ily!

If you haven’t already met me, perhaps you’ve seen me driving my
school bus. After 25 years dedication to that profession in Tuo-
lumne county, I’ve decided to make a career change and will just
as enthusiastic and dedicated to serving my community in a differ-
ent way … I am now a real estate agent for Sierra Gold Ca-
Properties! This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long
time.
I have lived in Tuolumne County since
1977. I enjoy the richness of the Si-
erra Foothills and all it has to offer. I
love interaction with people and will
work hard for you to make your home
buying and selling experience a posi-
tive one. If you would like me to do a
comparative market analysis on your
home, that is a service I offer for free.
I would be honored for you to allow me to represent you if you may be planning to sell your
home or buy another. So, what do you say? Give me a call at 209-232-9605 and let’s talk!
If you’re not ready, perhaps you can refer me and receive a $100 gift card when I close the
deal!

Hello, my name is Tammera Wilson, I have lived in Tuolumne
County all my life. Graduate of Sonora High, Sonora R.O.P.
Cosmetology program, and some classes at our beautiful Co-
lumbia Jr. College. I married Mike Wilson in 1984, after four
years of making me wait, we are still married. Celebrating our
33 years together this year. I have three boys, two daughters-in
-law and two grand babies. Life is awesome. I've been a hair-
stylist all my adult life, I have used my state license in every
way it can be used. I have represented manufacturing compa-
nies at trade shows, doing hair on stage and in floor booths.
I also went back to school and received my Vocational teaching certificate from Sacramento State,
and then began instructing at our R.O.P Cosmetology program for 12 years. I have also owned my
own salon, and the whole time remaining behind the chair. I currently have opened TW HAIR STU-
DIO located in Mono Village, at my residence, it's so cute and comfy feeling. Thirty plus years later,
semi- retired, I still love doing hair!! It's not only my career, it's my passion, my love and my life.

A Big Thank You
to all of our Advertisers in
the TCWN Newsletter.
You are truly appreciated!!
Let’s meet a couple of our Scholarship recipients!
Caitlin Donovan
Ashley Forrest
My name is Ashley. This was my first time applying for the scholarship and I am honored to be a recipient of the scholarship from your network. I am on my way to becoming a dental hygienist at Sacramento City College once I finish my prerequisites at Columbia College. I'm working full time and trying to save as much as I can to pay for tuition and books, it is a re-lief to receive some financial help to reach my career goal. I am very thankful for your help.
My name is Caitlin. I am a past recipient of a scholarship from the Tuolumne County Women’s Network. This or-ganization made it possible to reach my goal of becoming a Radiologic Technologist. With today’s economy and the inflation of the cost of living, it is very difficult to try and better my education with the support of only myself. The TCWN made it possible for me to continue my education while relieving some financial burden. I CANNOT stress what it meant to me to receive this scholarship. Once I graduate this December 2017, I hope to give back to this community like it has to me. Thanks TCWN!!
