WelcomeWelcome to our inaugural 2011 Edinburgh Fringe brochure for The Playhouse on the Fringe.
We are very proud and extremely excited tobe branching out onto the Fringe with a venueat the stylish Green Room on Picardy Place,a partnership we hope blossoms all year round and at many Festivals to come.
This year sees us dipping our toe into the water, taking on a small, exciting programme of 8 shows as we look to offer Fringe–goers a mixture of emerging talent in the fields of theatre and comedy, sprinkled literally with a touch of magic!
The venue itself will offer a modern and stylish setting that will be both professional & comfortable but above all will offer a great platform to entertain from.
PLAY LATE our new late night cabaret, comedy and party night will run throughout the Fringe. Produced by the Edinburgh Playhouse it is guaranteed to attract the best comedians and cabaret acts at the Festival. Please follow us on Facebook (Edinburgh Playhouse) and Twitter (@edinplayhouse) for the PLAY LATE line up, exclusive offers and information from us this Festival.
Any artists, performance groups or city venues interested in working with us at future Festivals or showcasing their talents at PLAY LATE should contact our Fringe Manager, Emma Bentley on [email protected].
We hope you have an amazing Fringe experience this year in Edinburgh and hope to make some of those magical summer memories with you.

From the company who brought you 2009’s ‘Metamorphosis’. A Macbeth like no other. Magic mirrors, outstanding physical theatre and fantastic new music by the composers of Time Out’s Critic’s Choice ‘Hamlet House of Horror’ combine to make a spectacular and nightmarish reinvention of this classic tale. You will be left questioning what is real and what is hallucination, what is evil and what is justified.
