The Philosophy of Science (FIRST YEAR, FIRST SEMESTER) No. of transferrable credits: 3 Status of the academic subject: Complementary (facultative) academic subject Holder of the academic subject: Professor Mihai STANCIU PhD. Objectives of the academic subject (course and applications):

• to understand the importance of philosophy when the man becomes an individual and social being;

• to define the basic concepts used by the philosophy of science; • to develop the ability to notice the significations of a philosophical text and to point out the

involvement in the generally human plan; • to explain the issues related to the philosophy of science and to point out the involvement upon

the students' scientific training.
