Parish Membership: We welcome new parishioners and ask that they register at the rectory as soon as possible.

Religious Education For Children: CCD classes are held every Sunday from September through April at 9:15 am. Classes are conducted in our school building.

Confessions: Daily Monday to Saturday following the 7:00 am Mass. Saturday afternoons at 3:30 pm.

Sacrament Of The Sick: Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who are ill in the hospital or at home.

Marriages: Please make arrangements at least one year in advance. Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass. Baptisms: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish). A required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last Sunday in English. Novenas: Every Tuesday Evening to Saint Anne following the 7:00 pm Mass. Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm Mass.

Mt. Carmel’s Week Next Sunday is “World Marriage

Sunday” We will conduct a special

blessing for married couples at all of the Masses.

Each year there are special

anniversary Masses celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart to honor the Sacrament

of Marriage.

Couples married 50 years are invited to the Mass on April 28, 2013, at 3:00 PM.

Couples married 25 & 5 years are invited to attend the Mass with Archbishop Myers on

May 5, 2013, at 3:00 PM.

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Once again our Archbishop John Joseph Myers, turns to all of the members of the Archdiocese of Newark to make a yearly sacrifice to support the

many good ministries and out-reaches of our Archdiocese. This year’s theme:

“We Are One Body” calls us to care for the many members of Christ’s Body

who are in need of our selfless charity. Catholic Charities, Catholic Schools, Senior Services

and our Seminary are just a part of the “good works” of our Archdiocese. Come be part of these good works!

Winter Chills! The cold days of Winter are

definitely upon us! Keeping our church warm and

comfy during the Winter months is a priority.

Your help is needed! One of the largest expenses for

our Parish is heating oil. Oil Bill - Dec. 26, 2012: $ 4,631.64 Oil Bill - Jan. 16, 2013: $ 3,916.22 Last weekend we had one of our

“Fuel” collections. Only $ 1,776.00 was taken in. Our next fuel collection will be Feb. 24.

the parish as an adult. Registration in a parish provides you with proper verification if you are

selected to be a sponsor in Baptism, Confirmation or Marriage.

It also makes you eligible for “parishioner” rates for use of our facilities.

If you are not registered as a parishioner and would like to do so, please call the office and we will be

happy to assist you!

Change of Address? If you are moving, please notify our office to change

At Communion time please stand and the Eucharist will be brought to you.

Special Prayers for the Sick Please make use of the special intention list on the

podium in the Divine Mercy Shrine. You may list a person’s name to be prayed for at the Mass you are

attending.

The Finance Committee apologizes for the late reporting. The Hurricane in October caused for a

cancellation of meetings.

AN ONGOING MISSION In his hometown synagogue, Jesus’ neighbors are amazed by his words. Nevertheless, they remind each other, “Is this not Joseph’s son?” Surely the people know who he is. The carpenter’s son. The young man who had learned in this very synagogue. The boy down the street. Conflict arises as Jesus begins to define himself in a new way. When he compares himself to the ancient prophets Elijah and Elisha the tensions grow. The tensions multiply when Jesus begins to tell of a new mission for God’s people: the good news of the scriptures is intended for all. Jesus is still calling young men to follow Him

into the Priesthood. They come from hometowns like Bayonne.

bierzmowania. Jak również ze zniżek przewidzianych dla parafian. Bliżesz informacje

Jeśli zmieniłeś miejsce zamieszkania, prosimy o podanie nowego adresu, abyśmy mogli

wprowadzić poprawki w liście wysyłkowej.

Osoby takie prosimy o zajmowanie miejsc w pierwszych ławkach. Na czas komunii prosimy o

powstanie, sygnalizując tym chęć przyjęcia komunii.

MODLITWA W INT. CHORYCH

Pragniemy otoczyć modlitwą osoby chore. Jeżeli chcesz podmodlić się za taką osobę, przy

bocznym wejściu do kościoła w Kaplicy Miłosierdzia Bożego znajduje się na pulpicie formularz na którym możesz wpisać imię i

nazwisko osoby chorej.

W Katedrze w Newarku Arcybiskup Myers będzie celebrował specjalne Msze św. dla Jubilatów

obchodzących 5. - 25. i 50. rocznicę ślubu w 2013 Msze św. dla Jubilatów odprawione będą:

APEL ARCYBISKUPA

Jak każdego roku tak i obecnie Arcybiskup wzywa całą rzymskokatolicką społeczność do

wspaniałomyślnego wsparcia finansowego wszelkich programów prowadzonych przez Archidiecezję Newark. Hasło tegoroczne:

„Jesteśmy jednym ciałem” wzywa nas do niesienia naszej bezinteresownej miłości, tym

którzy potrzebują naszej pomocy: grupom charytatywnym, katolickim szkołą, seniorom, seminarium duchownym. Jest to tylko część

„dobrych dzieł” prowadzonych przez organizację działające w archidiecezji. Aby mogły prowadzić

swoją działalność potrzebują naszego finansowego wsparcia.W miarę możliwości prosimy o hojność.

W mroźne dni utrzymanie ciepła w naszej świątyni jest bardzo ważne. Jak doskonale wiemy,

ogrzewanie i energia elektryczna jest jednym z największych kosztów utrzymania parafii.

Koszt za grudzień - 26, 2012: $ 4,631.64 Koszt za styczeń - 16, 2013: $ 3,916.22

Składka na ten cel w ostatmim tygodniu wyniosła $ 1,776.00. Następna nasza taca przeznaczona na

pokrycie kosztów paliwa opałowego będzie 24 lutego. Za hojność serdeczne Bóg zapłać.

WYZNANIE WIARY - CREDO

Między Bogiem a człowiekiem To, co powiedzieliśmy o wierze człowiekowi,

pokazało już coś bardzo ważnego. To mianowicie, że wiara jest czymś, co ma miejsce między osobami.

Wiara religijna jest czymś, co dzieje się między człowiekiem a Bogiem. Jeśli mówię „wierzę” w

odniesieniu do Boga, oznacza to, że: po pierwsze – dobrowolnie uznaję za prawdę to, co Bóg mówi,

oraz po drugie – czynię tak, ponieważ ufam Bogu, uznaję Go za Kogoś wiarygodnego. Kiedy mówimy

krótko „wiara”, mamy na myśli zarówno pewne prawdy, czyli treści wiary (np. Bóg stworzył świat,

Chrystus zmartwychwstał itd.), jak i zaufanie do Boga (osobiste odniesienie, przylgnięcie). Oba te

aspekty wiary przenikają się wzajemnie, uzupełniają i potrzebują. Sama znajomość prawd wiary nie oznacza jeszcze wiary. Można mieć doktorat z

teologii i nie być wierzącym. Druga skrajność to sprowadzanie wiary do samych

uczuć, do emocjonalnego zawierzenia bez zadawania sobie trudu rozumienia prawd wiary.

Duchowe zdrowie tkwi w równowadze: im bardziej ufam Bogu, tym bardziej Go poznaję i odkrywam Jego tajemnice. I odwrotnie, im bardziej poznaję Bożą prawdę, tym bliżej jestem samego Boga.

Mówił o tym niedawno Benedykt XVI: „Wiara jest bardzo osobistym aktem człowieka, który realizuje

się w dwóch wymiarach. Wierzyć to przede wszystkim znaczy uznać za prawdę to, czego do

końca nie ogarnia nasz umysł. Trzeba przyjąć to, co Bóg nam objawia o sobie, o nas samych i o

otaczającej nas rzeczywistości, także tej niewidzialnej, niepojętej, niewyobrażalnej. Ten akt

przyjęcia prawdy objawionej poszerza horyzont naszego poznania i pozwala dotrzeć do tajemnicy, w

jakiej zanurzona jest nasza egzystencja. Jednak zgoda na takie ograniczenie możliwości rozumu nie

przychodzi łatwo. I tu wiara jawi się w swoim drugim wymiarze:

jako zaufanie osobie – nie zwyczajnej

osobie, ale Chrystusowi. Ważne jest, w co wierzymy,

ale jeszcze ważniejsze, komu

wierzymy”.
