CGS Wellness Conclave 21-23.10.21

Climate Action Mufti 24.10.2021

Dear Parents and Students, If we want to eradicate Coronavirus completely we all need to follow the safety protocols consistently ourselves and encourage others to do them same. Many people around us are ignorant of this. They are seen roaming around without masks. Many don‟t bother to wash their hands frequently or use sanitizers. Such people are not only a threat to themselves or their family members but also to the entire society. This is one of the main reasons why occasionally the infection rates soar when new variants develop. We must help our country by spreading awareness of the dangerous effects of this virus and by promoting good personal hygiene. If we see any of our friends, neighbours or relatives without a mask or not interested to wash hands, we could inform them about the conse-quences of these actions. There are still some people amidst us who are making a fuss about being vaccinated without a good reason. We should encourage them to get registered as early as possible. We should try to help the underprivileged with masks, sanitizers, soap etc as much as we can. We can also help them to get registered for vaccine. If we want to restrain this epidemic we must fight this together even if it is in the smallest possible way. If we want to see our country progress then we must do our bit. Only then Bangladesh will be able to get back to her normal life. Hector Fernandez

Dear Aryan, It is hard to believe that you have left us so soon. You were the kindest soul we have come across. All your teachers and counsellors miss your intellectual questions and your never ending curiosity. When some-one passes away it is said that they are survived by their immediate family. In your case, you are also survived by your CGS family- all your teachers, your counsellors and your loving friends. You will always be alive in our memories and in our heart.

CGS BACK TO SCHOOL

After 553 days of lock down and virtual schooling, CGS students in small numbers in senior classes, began to slowly return to physi-cal schooling amidst joy and some level of ap-prehension.

Corridors once again reverberated with student voices and open spaces were appreciated like never before to toss a ball or hang out with friends at a safe distance. Some of our students expressed their joy: My school got closed when I was in Class 5. I never thought that we are going to find our-selves in a situation where instead of seeing our friends, teachers live we are going to see them through gadgets but finally yesterday I got to see them after a long time. I felt like hugging my friends but didn‟t. When I saw my teachers at the gate I felt so happy. Finally when I saw my classrooms I got goose bumps and just couldn‟t wait for the classes to start. I felt a bit scared also as the pandemic still exists but our school imposed some rules like no touching, wearing masks, temperature check, sanitizer booth etc which made me feel safe. I am so happy and grateful for all the fa-cilities I am getting. Lastly, I am really excited to start my session in school - Washima (7R). I was anxious but also ecstatic to see my class-mates after this long. I felt nostalgic thinking about the fun-filled days I spent in a class-room. I am more than thrilled to return to school! - Maliha (8G)

CGS Wellness Conclave 21-23.10.21

Climate Action Mufti 24.10.2021

Dear Parents and Students, Last month has been an emotionally difficult one for all of us at Upper School. As we stumble from this grief, we must remember to reach out and find solace among the people that we love. As we celebrated Gratitude Day, we were gently reminded to look around and be thankful for everything that we have been blessed with. The memory of those that we have lost will always remain, but we must always remem-ber to live in the present. We must always remember to be thankful for our blessings. This month CGS will be hosting its first Virtual Wellness Conclave. There will be sessions which are tailored for parents, teachers and students. Speakers from all over the country and world will be holding these fun and interactive workshops. Stay tuned for more updates. We hope to see all of you there! With the advent of school reopening, I would like to assure everyone about CGS‟ mindset as we navigate this crucial time. CGS has always been and always will be the front runner when it comes to innovation. But we will always remain cautious when it comes to the safety of our children and teachers. I hope and pray that everyone is staying safe. I am truly thankful for everyone in our CGS family. Rhubayna Chowdhury

Being deprived from the school halls for such a long time made me realize how dear school is to me, and the feeling of being able to come back is indescrib-able.” Nusaibah (12C) “I am happy to return to school because I really missed my friends and teachers. I love school and I think that interaction with my peers is part of the education process.” Waijune (12G) “I am ecstatic to return to school. Distance learning cannot replace the feeling of real school. It felt like we were stuck in a limbo. Be-ing back in school after so long makes me feel alive again.” Arham (12C) “I was thrilled when I learned that we will be able to come to school. It was surreal and ex-pressing my feelings through words would not be enough.” Sajeda (12G) “ I have so much more appreciation for all the teachers and staff members without whom this wouldn‟t have been possible.” Yamina (12G)
