We are committed to providing high quality food as ethically and sustainably as possible. Some of the things we do to care for our environment include:— Sourcing locally grown fruit and vegetables which are in season— Using Red Tractor meat which is traceable, safe and farmed with care— Sourcing our milk from Staffordshire farms— Meeting sustainability standards for our fish, as set by the Marine Stewardship Council— Sourcing local free range eggs from a farm only 3 miles away in Madeley— Ensuring all our tea and coffee is fair trade— Reducing single use plastics, utilising traditional crockery, cutlery and glassware – all we request is that you make sure this is returned when your order is collected

Meet & Eat Booking Guidelines

Welcome to Meet & Eat, your one stop solution for delivered catering at Keele University.

In order to make your booking as stress free as possible our booking guidelines are outlined below. Please remember though if you do have any difficulties or just want to talk to someone about your order, our Meet & Eat helpline are on hand. Please do call us at Keele Hall on 34153 and our team will be delighted to help.

Online orders

Orders can be placed along with tutorials using the online ordering system at the following link:

Orders can be made up to 2 working days in advance. The table below outlines the days that orders should be placed for delivery:

Delivery times

Deliveries are available Monday to Friday between 07.00 and 18.30. Deliveries required outside of these times will be available, but may incur a small additional labour charge depending on the specifics of your delivery. Please contact the helpline team for further details or to discuss your delivery requirements.

The Meet & Eat team will deliver your order to the room specified on the booking. If the room is changed after the delivery has been made our staff may not be in a position to return to deliver your order to another area. If you are aware room changes are needed on the day please contact us by telephone as soon as possible so that we can amend your booking details and advise our delivery team.

Service

We now provide a full set up service for your Meet & Eat delivery. Please ensure that you have booked your room before placing your order and that the required tabling is in place for your delivery; unfortunately our teams will not have the time to organise tables in rooms.

Orders placed for beverages only for lunchtime consumption will not be delivered between 12.00 and 13.45 due to the demand on the service over the lunch time period. If you require beverages only, they can be delivered up until 11.45. Our insulated flasks will hold beverages hot for up to 8 hours.

We do encourage you to cater for 100% of the attendees as we cannot accept responsibility for a shortage of food and drinks if you have not catered for all attendees.

Cancellations and amendments

We understand that things change so you can cancel or edit your booking by logging back into the system up to 2 working days prior to your order being delivered. If you need to cancel or edit your order with less than 2 working days notice, please contact our helpline team who will be happy to advise on next steps.

Cancellations and amendments can be made free of charge up to 48 hours before your delivery is due. The following will apply for all food related deliveries beyond this time limit.

— Between 48 and 24 hours 50% chargeable

— Less than 24 hours 100% chargeable

Equipment & Sustainability

Your food will be delivered on black slate effect plastic reusable platters which will be collected by the Meet & Eat delivery team once you have finished. We would be hugely grateful if you could please ensure that all crockery, cutlery, and platters are available for collection and returned to the delivery box and for any waste to be placed in the bag provided.

In an effort to target a significant reduction in plastic and non compostable waste we will no longer be supplying disposable cups, cutlery or plates on any of our deliveries. If these are required, please contact the helpline team who will advise of any additional charges for these items.

We want to keep our prices as low as possible whilst working towards our sustainable objectives; any missing equipment will be charged unless it is returned to us (at Keele Hall) within two working days. A full list of equipment tariff charges is available by emailing: [email protected]

Food Safety

To comply with food safety legislation our food has been prepared and held under temperature controlled conditions prior to delivery.

We recommend that all food supplied should be consumed within two hours of delivery. You are strongly advised not to allow your guests to take food off the premises.

Let us know

Our team prides itself on attention to detail and getting things right, however, sometimes things do go wrong.

Should you have any reason to be unhappy with your delivery we ask that you notify us as soon as possible by telephoning ext. 34153 so that we have an opportunity to put things right.

Finally we like to know how we are doing...so please take the time to fill in our feedback cards. We may call you periodically anyway to see how things went.

We cannot guarantee our products do not contain nut properties. All products are prepared in a kitchen using products containing nuts and gluten.

Departmental Budget code

You will require your 12 digit budget code to place an order. If you are unsure of your 12 digit code, please contact your Management Accountant who will be able to advise.

Minimum orders

A minimum order value of £10.00 per delivery applies (net of VAT). Your order will be automatically charged at £10.00 should it be less than this amount.

VAT will be added where applicable to your order; if you need advice relating to whether VAT will be applicable to your order our helpline team will be happy to assist.
