Geography of the are where Muhammad was from
Arabian Peninsula in the city of Mecca.Mecca: Located in the eastern edge in the
largest continuous sand desert.Desert covers three quarters of the Arabian
Peninsula. Hot desert, environment very harsh.Arabian Peninsula is located Southwest Asia
between Red Sea and the Persian Gulf.Desert also includes: raised plains, area of
flat land, lacking rivers, and small lakes.
Muhammad was born in a merchant family in Mecca. The only problem was that his father died before he was born.
Then his mother died when he was six years old.
His Bedoum nurse place the boy with his grandfather.
When Muhammad was eight his grandfather died.
Muhammad grew up at his parental uncle’s house and remained there for many years.
NAME OF THE FAITH AND THOSE NAME OF THE FAITH AND THOSE WHO FOLLOWEDWHO FOLLOWED
Faith called Islam- “ peace by obedience to the Will and Commandments of God.”
Those who followed called Muslims- “The ones that accept the message of peace by obedience to God.”
Hegira- The migration from Mecca to Yathrib.
It happened because the believe in one God is not a popular faith for those whose live depends on idols.
As he won people to change to to the new faith he also won enemies who tried to assassinate him in 622.
That´s why he goes to Yathrib.About 300 kilometers to the north.
