Sixth Sunday of Easter
2019: The Year of Scripture
During this Year of Scripture, we will aspire to
grow as Christian disciples through three distinct
practices:
1. Bible Reading to form us through daily
discipline and habit;
1. Bible Reflection to help us to become fluent in
the language of sacred scripture;
2. Bible Study to lead us to know who God is and
what God does.
Bishop Daniel Beaudoin’s Bible reading plan and
Bible study for 2019 consists of meeting for Bible
study each Sunday at 10:10 in the Adult Ed. Room/
Chapel and reading Bible passages each day at
home and in various settings. A guide is available
each quarter to help you stay in God’s Word
throughout our “Year of Scripture.”

2019 Mission Boost
Recently, over a series of three weeks, Olivet’s
Mission Emphasis teams shared with us opportuni-
ties and needs in our congregation, our local com-
munity and around the globe. We’re excited about
these opportunities because we believe God is posi-
tioning Olivet to partner in new ways to care for one
another, grow in discipleship and live out our
mission to invite all people to become fully devoted
followers of Jesus.
You recently received a brochure outlining these
opportunities and the costs associated with meeting
these needs. Please review the material and prayer-
fully consider how God is leading you to join in
these efforts. Also enclosed was an intent form to
register your intention to financially support these
goals from June 1 – December 31, 2019.
However you decide to participate, please bring this
intent form with you to
worship and place it in the
offering plate any Sunday in
May. Additional forms will
be available. If you don’t
plan to be in worship, you
can drop your intent form off
at the church office. Together, we’ll consecrate
these gifts on Pentecost Sunday, June 9.

First meeting - Everyone welcome!

or addiction issues primarily in the Sylvania commu-
nity, this is the group for you. If you are unable to
attend on May 21, but are interested in being a part of
this group, let Jackie know. Jackie Mierzejewski:

COULD YOU HELP US OUT?
We need volunteers to do
laundry July - September. You pick up the laundry Wednesday
evening or Thursday morning and
return it on Sunday or, at the latest,
the following Monday. There are
dish cloths, towels and aprons to
launder. Let me know if you can help with this important
task. Thanks!
Also, our guests love the salad table, so it would be great
if we had a couple of salads donated by Olivet family
members (other than basic tossed) every week. Just let
me or Chef Holly know by Monday of the week if you are
going to bring a salad and the variety. You can buy potato
salad, bean salad, macaroni salad, Jell-O salad or make a
"specialty" of yours.
Thank you for your servant hearts and hands!
Please let me know if you are able to volunteer.
