Artists' note: The Northwood Symphonette, a professional chamber orchestra based at the Northwood Institute's Midland (Mich.) campus, has gathered acclaim from its recent winter tour which included the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Phoenix, Palm Springs, and Dallas. This summer the Symphonette was the resident orchestra of the Matrix: Midland Festival, and this month will be performing throughout Michigan. Conductor Jaeger has enjoyed success in the U.S. and abroad. He is also Music Director and Conductor of the Midland Symphony (since 1969) and the Northwestern Michigan Symphony (since 1976) in Traverse City, and has guest conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Aspen Festival Orchestra, and orchestras in Lisbon, Antwerp, and Thessoloniki. Vocalist Judith Dow, a native Ann Arborite, is well-known for her musical comedy and theater performances, and since 1977 has been entertaining dis cerning audiences in New York's best supper clubs and cabarets. Her career also includes numerous television appearances and eight years as a radio talk show hostess.
