April Jones and Rowdy April Jones and Rowdy April Jones and Rowdy April Jones and Rowdy Rowdy came into rescue when his owner died. Contacted by the gentleman’s daugh-ter we tried to take him as quickly as possible. Rowdy caused quite a stir when he was posted on Facebook. We had numerous offers to foster him. Rowdy was a spe-cial case and we quickly learned that he needed to be neutered as soon as possible as he was not very socialized and was trying to dominate any dog he came into contact with. He was boarded after his surgery and posted on our webpage. April Jones and her husband contacted us about adoption. They drove from Virginia along with their Bullie Annebelle to meet Rowdy. Even though he was nine years old, Rowdy had plenty of energy and April began immediately to work with him to curb his hor-mone motivated behavior and teach him some manners. The picture to the right is a rare moment in Rowdy’s new life. He is napping !

Jennifer and Ricky Rand and PoohBearJennifer and Ricky Rand and PoohBearJennifer and Ricky Rand and PoohBearJennifer and Ricky Rand and PoohBear PoohBear was an owner surrender at a local shelter. We are really not sure why because he has a great Bulldog personality—curious, playful and loving. PoohBear does have a serious problem with his ears. He has chronic infection that causes them to swell and be-come inflamed making delivery of medication difficult. Pooh has been to see Dr. Hnilica and we are working on getting him properly diagnosed.

This is where the Rand family comes in—they offered to foster Pooh while we determined what our next steps in caring for him would be. Of course, irresistible Pooh made his way into their lives and hearts immediately. They even offered to help with surgery on his ears if that is what is needed. “We have totally fallen in love with our Pooh Bear! We all get down and wrestle with him like a puppy - we can't stop talking about him to anybody who will listen.”

Amy and Josh Allen and Rosemary Amy and Josh Allen and Rosemary Amy and Josh Allen and Rosemary Amy and Josh Allen and Rosemary Rosemary came to us from the Roane county shelter after her picture appeared on PetFinder. Beth Schultheis got her from the shelter and took her to her vet for shots. Rosemary turned out to be a very sweet and affection seeking little girl who most likely was used for breeding and dis-carded. Despite any neglect she might have suffered she was a happy dog who quickly learned to be housebroken. She was fostered by Amy and Josh, great foster parents to now three SMBC rescue and loving guardian of one, Zoe. Miss Rosemary will soon be a permanent addi-tion to the Allen household when she is adopted by them in December.
