Now are the summer months when individuals and families generally take some well-deserved time and escape the rat race of everyday life. Where is God when you go on vacation? Is He one of the relics that is left behind to gather some dust with the promise to clean Him off and return to Him as soon as the fun part of life is over? Or does God go with you in your heart and mind? It is so tempting to make excuses to refrain from worship while we’re away from home. The excuses are many and they make so much sense when we say them. At this point, I could give you a lot of LAW. I could attempt to “guilt” you into not skipping church and prayers and maybe some Bible reading while you travel this summer. But I’ll leave you with this: You are God’s adopted children, bought with a price – the precious blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Give thanks daily for the mer- ciful and gracious God who has called you to be His own. Whether you are home or far away there is a reason to worship. When we worship we are strengthened and renewed in our faith so we can con- tinue to serve our Lord. Where you worship also makes a difference. Don’t be tempted into false worship or false doctrine.

But I’ll leave you with this: You are God’s adopted children, bought with a price – the precious

blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Give thanks daily for the mer-ciful and gracious God who has called you to be His own. Whether you are home or far away there is a reason to worship. When we worship we are strengthened and renewed in our faith so we can con-tinue to serve our Lord. Where you worship also makes a difference. Don’t be tempted into false worship or false doctrine. Remember: “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.” 1 Peter 5:8-9b

If you would like to find an LCMS church in the area where you are headed….ask your pastor or visit www.lcms.org and look for a church in the di-rectory.
