The Nazi Party
by Ethan
After World War 1, a worldwide depression had occurred, also known as the "Great Depression." In Germanymillions were out of work, and the government wasweak. And this gave Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Partya chance to come to power. Hitler was good atpersuading people to join his party.
Hitler persuaded Germans that Germany was goingto be a better place to live. Hitler attracted the unemployed, young, and people of the middle class(small store owners and office employees etc.) to join his party. The party's rise to power wasquick and at first the Nazis were unknown. The Nazis didn't win that many votes that took place in1924.
On January 30th 1933 Hitler became chancellor and he was ahead of the government. Germanythought Adolf Hitler was their new savior. During the time he was in power he made it so that thepolice were able to do the stuff that the Nazis were able to do. He persuaded his Cabinet to endfreedom of individuals, speech and assembly. And now the authorities could read e-mails, listen in on telephone conversations, and searchhomes without a warrant.
Many young who were unemployed joined the Nazi Stormtroopers. They liked wearingthe brown suits and the high leather boots. The auxiliary policemen, SA, went into thestreets and beat up people who spoke or acted against the Nazi regime. The SAsilenced the other Germans who didn't support the Nazis. The Nazis used the ProtectiveSquad to help reign terror. And the Protective Squad soon became a special guard forHitler. The SS (the Protective Squad) formed smaller more elite groups. The SS soonbecame SA, then later became concentration camp guards.
