OnSriKrishna Janmastamiday this year, thedevotees fasted tillmidnightandperformedabhishekam to thedeities. HG Madhava Prabhu gave an enchanting talk on the appearance and childhood pastimes of LordKrishna.ThedevoteesofVishnuarecalledVaisnavas,thedevoteesofLordSriKrishnaarecalledKarsnas,andthe devotees of Srimati Radharani are called Gaudiyas. On the occasion of Sri Radhastami, we performedabhishekam for Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar ji. Hordes of visitors from the nearby Bangaru Gudde villageparticipatedenthusiasticallyinthefestivalandweservedaprasadamfeasttoall.

Go-Seva:

LordSriKrishnaisworshipedbythewholeworld,butHeHimselfworshipsMotherSurabhitoshowushowtotake care of go-mata. Everyday Lord Balarama, Lord Sri Krishna & Their cowherd boyfriends would takehundreds and thousands of cows for grazing the varieties of grasses across the twelve special forests ofVrindavan.TryingtofollowthefootstepsofLordSriKrishnaandLordBalaram,wetootakeourcowsgrazingintheforestareassurroundingSSKBKfarm.Grazingcowsoutsideisgoodforthehealthsincetheygetbrightwarnsunshineand freshgrasses. Everyday,wegooutby8a.m. andafter the cowseat sufficient grass,webringthembacktoourpremises.

TheVedicscripturesdeclarethateveryhumanhassevenmothers,anditisonlyonemother,Go-mata,whosemilkwedrinkthroughoutourlife.So,itisourdutytoserveandtakecareofher.Tosupplementtheirnutrition,wefeedthecowswithamixtureofwheatflour,moongdalflour,ricehusk&groundnutcake.Eachcowgets6kilosofthissupplementperday,givenintwoportions,onemorningandoneevening.Protectingcowsmeanswetakereallygoodcareoftheiroverallhealth.

Healthycowsnaturallygivebirthtohealthycalves!MotherRadhikadeliveredamalecalfon4thJune,2017,3.10a.m.,andHGBasuGhoshPrabhunamedthecalfBalabhadra.MotherSubhadradeliveredafemalecalfon13thAugust,2017at6.30a.m.andHHRPBhaktiRaghavaSwamiMaharajanamedherBahula.

Go-pujawasdoneonSriBalaramaPurnimaandSriKrishnaJannmasthami.HGSriKrishnaPurushottamPrabhuandHGAbhiramPrabhudidgo-pujaontheauspiciousdayofSriKrishnaJanmastami-2017.Threebulls,Balaram,Shiva,andKannaarebeingtrainedtopullcartsandploughthesoil,whichisvitalforproducingfoodgrains.

Agriculture:

HGGirirajPrabhuhascompletedploughinglandforthecultivationofpaddywiththehelpoftwooxen,Bala&Krishna.Paddy transplantationwasdoneunder the leadershipofHGNagaraniMatajiwith thehelpof locals.Vegetablessuchasbhindi,karela,anddondawereplanted.Weinstalledmesh-fencingaroundthepaddyandvegetable fields to protect them frommonkeys. Since theproperty is suitable for cultivating black pepper, apremiumspice,webegunablackpepperplantationhere.

WeperformedroofrenovationsforBhaktiKutir,templebuilding,andgrihastakutirs.WealsolaidnewflooringforthetemplebuildingandtheBhaktiKutir.WaterfacilitieswerearrangedforBhaktiKutir,grihastakutirs,thegoshalaandthetemple.Wehaverenovatedthegoshalaflooringandalsoarrangedwaterfacilities.Thegoshalawaswhitewashedwithlimeandanewshedwasconstructedfortheoxen,BalaandKrishna.

TocultivatefreshgrassestouseasfodderforthecowsatISKCONSSKBK,weneedasteadysourceofwater.Waterisalsoessentialtomaintainalltheactivitiesonthispremisesandtotakecareofthedeitiesanddevoteeshere.Forthesepurposes,weareconstructingwellsonthepropertyandrepairingoldwells.
