Tradional Lan Mass, Solemn High Mass for the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus-At this Mass, there will be a consecraon of the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus & Benedicon of the Most Blessed Sacrament at our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Doylestown. 236
THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST JUNE 3, 2018
FROM THE PASTOR
My Dear Parishioners,
Praised be Jesus Christ! As we begin this month of June, we enter upon a very excing, challenging and hope-filled me of year for many of our parish families. For one, it’s excing because of all the graduaons that will be taking place. To the best of my knowledge that includes about 30 of our parishioners who will be graduang high school
this year. They represent various schools including: Kenne, Unionville, Salesianum, Shanahan, and Padua. On Thursday of this week, our parish will host the Baccalaureate Service for Kenne High School. And next week, we will have a prayer of blessing for all our 2018 grads. So a word of congratulaons to all our parish graduates, Job Well Done!!
No secret that June can prove to be a challenging me as well: Change of schedules, adjustment to rounes of work and family life can all prove challenging. And while we no-doubt praise God for the changes that summer-me brings, we do need to be paent with the changes that summer demands: paence with one another, paence with oneself. What’s more, we need to make an added effort to be with God. The old adage is true, there is no vacaon from our vocaon, to our being with God. And so Mass on Sundays no maer what, even while one is away. And that brings us to the Good-News of this hope-filled me: Namely, that God remains with us, no maer what. We celebrate and proclaim that loudly in this month of June. Certainly, today on this Feast of Corpus Chris but also throughout this month which is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
This Friday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It’s a devoon to the Heart of Jesus goes back to the 11th and 12th centuries. But it took a new life in the 1600s when Jesus appeared several mes to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in France. In these apparions, Jesus called aenon to his human heart. A heart which he said has so loved men but which receives so much ingratude and disrespect. Jesus requested that His heart be honored and made beauful promises to all who would do so. I share these promises with you and ask that you take these words to heart. They are the words of Jesus, Himself and they carry Good News. News that can kindle the flame of Love in us, a flame that brings healing and strength. May God give us this strength, this hope, this love. AMEN.
Peace,
Fr. Rogers
Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus can be found on page 4 of this bullen.
CHURCH CHIMNEY REPAIRS
A few weeks ago, the hot water heater in the Church needed to be replaced. At that me, it was recommended to us by the plumber that we get the interior of our Church Chimney looked at which we did. Upon inspecon and review, it was recommended that the interior of our chimney be lined and the cement be repaired. Cost for the project came in at $9,000.00 and work on it began this week. While this is a rather invisible work, it is one of those costly but necessary jobs that just needs to be done. 236
