ATHLETICS
The Modern school team participated in the New Delhi District Athletics Meet
held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Delhi on 19th
August. 2015. In the U-12 Girls
Category Arohi Aggarwal S1B secured the 1st position in Long Jump. In the U-
14 Girls Category Shivangi Menon S3A secured 1st position in High Jump,
Tanvi Sikka S3F secured 2nd
position in 600mts, and Nirnay Jain S3A secured
the 2nd
position in Shot-put. In the U-16 Girls Category Manya Sikka S5H
secured the 1st 200mts and 2
nd position in 100mts. Riddhi Jain S6H secured the
1st position in Long Jump, Priyan Kapoor S5A secured the 1
st position in 200mts
and 2nd
position in 400mts. In the U-14 Boys Category Arjun Khanchandani
S3D secured the 3rd
position in Long Jump. In the U-16 Boys Sanskar Nagpal S4
secured the 3rd
position in 200mts and 3rd
position in Shot-put
BADMINTON
The Badminton team participated in the Delhi State Badminton Championship held at Ludlo Castle
School on 12th
August.2015. In the U-15 Girls Category Ananya Goel won Gold in Singles and was
declared Delhi no. 1.
The team also participated in the Badminton Zonal Championship 2015 held at Modern School,
Barakhamba Road, Delhi from 22nd
August. to 25th
August. 2015. The U-14 Boys were Runners-up. The
U-15 Girls were Second Runners-up. The U-17 Boys and Girls were Winners. The U-19 Boys and Girls
were Second Runners-up.
Bhavya Rishi participated in the Chipalkati India Jr. International Badminton Championship held at
Pune from 2nd
September. to 6th
September. 2015, she qualified in the top 32.

Indian Team which will be participating in the
Asian Jr. Badminton Championship to be held
at Tokyo, Japan.

Excellentia horse show
The Excellentia Equest Pvt.Ltd organised a horse show at the Excellentia Equitation Centre New
Delhi.
Modern School Horse Riding team comprising of Kenesha Khurana, Shivya Khandelwal,
Keshav Bansal, Amay Jolly, Saksham Jain, Manvi Jain, Nirantava Musa, Yaashvi Jain, Jai
Gupta, Riddhi Kuthiana , Jaivanta Singh took part.
The Riders Participated in Ball and Bucket, Pole Bending, Equitation Class, Beginner Hacks,
Intro Dressage, and Open Hacks events respectively.
The performance of our school Basketball Team was commendable. The U-19 Boys Basketball team was
the Winner of the All India IPSC Boys’ U-19 Basketball Championship 2015 held at Modern school,
Barakhamba Road, Delhi from 17th
May to 20th
May 2015. Sanat Goel was the Most Promising Player and
Sunil was the Best Player of the Championship.
Shreyasi Vats S6C was selected for the U-16 Girls Indian Team which participated in the Asian
Basketball Championship 2015 held at Indonesia from 13th
July to 12th
August. 2015.
Both the U-19 Boys and U-19 Girls were Winners’ of the 21st Ramjas Basketball League 2015 held at
Ramjas School, R.K.Puram, Delhi from 17th
August. to 2nd
September. 2015.
Pranav Manchanda S6B and Hansraj S6A won Gold in the Youth Basketball Nationals held at Bhav
Nagar, Gujarat from 12th
September to 21st September 2015.
CHESS
Our students fared well in chess. Daksh Jain S2H won the 3rd
position in the SGFI Chess Nationals held at
Tamil Nadu from 27th
April to 3rd
May 2015.
Harshal Shahi won the 1st position in the U-19 open and 3
rd position in the U-17 open in the Delhi State
Chess Championship held at JNN Stadium on 15th
April 2015.

SQUASH
In the NSCI Junior Open Squash Championship held in Mumbai from 8th
to 13th
August 2015, Megha
Bhatia S3C secured 2nd
position in the U-13 girls’ category.
In the All India IPSC Squash Championship 2015 held at Indore from 14th
to 16th
August, Sanya Vats,
Megha Bhatia and Arushi Nadar were Winners in the U-14 Girls category.

Asian Jr. Individual Championship 2015 held at Tehran, Iran Megha Bhatia secured the 3rd
position in U-13 Girls Category

The U-17 Boys Cricket team was the Winner of the All India IPSC U-17 Boys Cricket tournament 2015
which was hld at YPS,Patiala from 1st

The U-19 Girls Cricket team was the Second Runner-up of the All India IPSC U-19 Girls Cricket
Tournament 2015 held at Mayo College,Ajmer from 13th

SWIMMING
Once again the Mopdern School Swimming team won laurels. In the XXX All India IPSC Boys ‘Swimming
Championship 2015-16 held at Genesis Global School, Noida from 7th
to 9th
July 2015, the U- 19 Boys
were Winners’. Deepanshu Dahiya was declared the Best Swimmer of the Meet with 6 Gold medals and 1
Silver medal. Our school team won 14 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 6 Bronze medals in all. The YMCA
Aquatic Championship was held at YMCA Club, Jai Singh Road, Delhi from 7th
Aug. to 9th
August. '15. In
the U-19 Boys we won 15 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal. Deepanshu Dahiya was declared the Best
Swimmer .In the U-19 Girls we won 9 Gold medals, 6 silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. The U-17 Boys won
10 Bronze medals. The U-17 Girls won 3 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 7 Bronze medals.
At the Aman Dogra Memorial Swimming Meet 2015 held at AIIMS, Delhi on 10th
August.'15. The U-14
Boys won 2 Bronze medals.
The Open Aquatic Meet was held at Talkatora Stadium Delhi from 1st September. to 3
rd September.'15.
At the meet the U -19 Boys won 10 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 1 Bronze medal. Deepanshu Dahiya S6
was declared the Best Swimmer. In the U-17 Boys won 5 Bronze medals. In the U-19 Girls won 4 Bronze
medals. In the U-17 Girls we won 2 Gold medals, 4 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals.
PTA SPORTS AWARD 2014 – 2015
The PTA Sports Award 2014-15 for A+ Category (International Position Holder and Participation, SGFI,
Open & CBSE National Position Holder) and A Category CBSE Open National Participation, IPSC
Position Holder) were held on 27th
August. 2015. The Chief Guest for the Award Ceremony was Mr R K
Bhatia, Former Principal, Modern School ,Barakhamba Road, Delhi. The Awards were received by 227
students.
This award ceremony is organised every year by the Parent Teacher Association with the spirit to
appreciate and encourage the players who have performed at the above mentioned levels of tournament
and brought laurels to our school.
