The MOB Vision
To enable Fathers and Father-figures of St Benedicts School with the opportunity to
become ‘Champion Dads’ in the lives of their children.
Being a better dad is about being present and involved in every stage of your child’s life.
The best way to be a better dad is to be aware of the need to spend quality time with your children, learn how to be a better parent and to regularly practice positive behaviours.
If you are not living with your children or with their biological mother then it is important to remember that your journey as a father will affect your kid’s life.
It is all about the kids and your journey as a father matters!

Your development as a ‘Champion Dad’ is beneficial to your kids now and in the future.
You can prevent and be prepared for issues that may arise and reducing the need for an interventionist approach later in life.
You as a Dad will benefit from a better relationship and most importantly, so will your kids!
You as a Dad can spend time with other Dads and kids.
The Mission of ‘The MOB’
Higher levels of father involvement are associated with positive child-father and adolescent-father relationships, which are beneficial to both father and child
Men who are involved fathers are more likely to feel self-confident and effective as parents and to find parenthood more satisfying
Fathers who are involved in their children’s lives are more likely to be more satisfied with life, feel less psychological distress and have greater empathetic understanding of others
There is some evidence that men’s emotional involvement with their children can act as a buffer against work-related stress

Be a place for advice for other fathers in the St Benedicts school community.
Come together to in a spirit of fun with your children and become the ‘Dad you were born to be’.
