In today’s class we will be learning about the Medieval Manor.We will learn about the different buildings and areas in the manor and their uses.
The Manor
● The Manor was the land that belonged to the lord.
● The lord lived in the Manor House.
● Most lords lived in these houses, only the very rich could afford to live in castles.

The other buildings on the manor were:1. The church: This was where people went
to mass. 2. The forge: This was where the
blacksmith worked. 3. The Mill: This was where the peasants
brought their wheat to be ground into flour.

3. The Commons: This was where the peasants could bring their animals to graze.
4. The Forest: This is where the people would get their wood from. This was very important.
5. The Demesne: This was the land around the manor house that the lord used for himself.
