News From the Front Lines: Dear Pastors and Friends in Christ Jesus, Greetings from Baumholder, Germany! I want to thank each of you for the faithful prayers and support over the years! Without you we would not have been able to stay on the mission field for these 12 years. Many of you have been keeping up with the current situation with the Army post in Baumholder - our now current population is only around 4000 Americans, this is a huge decline from where it was for so many years of over 13,000. The current administration continues to reduce the military in Europe and the future of the post here is uncertain. We ask you to pray along with us as we will begin our first furlough in 12 years and seek The Lord as to His will for our next place of service. The church has reduced along with the post and can no longer afford to keep us on. We have been praying for the past two years as to what The Lord would have us to do and He has now made it very clear that it is time for us to move on. This has been a very hard decision for us as we love our military, love the Baumholder military community and a special love for the church. We have at the same time seen new people coming to the church and recently had a young military couple accept Christ as their Savior. Our prayer for the church here in Baumholder is that the community will grow once again and that the new Pastor of the church will be able to continue in this good work. The new Missionary/Pastor is Bro. Troy Green and he is fully supported and therefor will not require monies from the church. This will greatly help to keep the doors open at Grace! I will of course keep each of you updated as to our future service as Missionaries. We are earnestly seeking The Lord and have no doubt that He already has a new work for us. Please pray with us in this matter! We will be back in the states in just a few weeks to begin our first furlough. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and again - thank you for your faithfulness to us - we are blessed to be a part of your missionary team... News From the Front Lines:

Dear Pastors and Friends in Christ Jesus,

Our year is almost complete and yet their is still much work to do if we are to reach our world with the Gospel News of God's saving grace. Here are just a few things we have been busy with since our last newsletter.

October - Every October we hold our annual missions conference in which we were in much prayer over since the downsizing of our soldiers over the past 18 months. We heard from our Missionary in Germany on Wednesday, my son Corre preached on Thursday and on Friday we had a Skype session with our missionary in the Philippines who in just one month later would lose his house and much of his church do to the typhoon in his area. The Lord greatly blessed our conference we are able to continue support for all our missionaries for yet another year.

November - We celebrated Thanksgiving with 30 people of our church family and a few visitors also. It is always a wonderful time to give thanks to The Lord for His goodness by personal testimony. Of course we always have great food and the fellowship is so very needed - all in all it was a great day.

December - Was filled with many witnessing opportunities... We started with a men's fellowship followed by a church wide Christmas caroling at the German hospital. We were able to pass out many tracts and encourage many of them as we sang many of the beautiful carols. My wife then held her Ladies Christmas fellowship in which about 10 ladies came and had wonderful time together. Christmas Day we celebrated at home with our family plus some of the families of the church - it was a wonderful day together...

Lastly - Please pray for our soldiers - many are having difficulties and as a result are on medication and several are attempting to take their own life...Much prayer would be appreciated in this matter. Thank you for your continued prayers for us & monthly support,

In the Lord's Army,

Steve & Diana Meyer, II Timothy 2:3-4

Over the past few months we have been working to rebuild the church after the massive reduction of soldiers in our community. Thankfully - we have seen a few new visitors and one family that will most likely be joining the church in a few weeks. Thank you for praying for the church and the continued work of reaching our soldiers and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A new single soldier has been visiting also and is very hungry for the truth of God's Word. Chase was saved about three months ago and then reassigned to Baumholder, please pray for his spiritual growth.

The "New Baumholder" community is very small now and most likely will stay that way, it is what the "Stars and Stripes" has named as being the "New Norm" for this city. This has caused us to make some changes with the makeup of the church. Beginning October of this year we will turn over the upper portion of our building to the Landlord due to the lack of funds to keep it. This also means losing two classrooms, nursery, kitchen, office and fellowship hall. Please pray for this change as we all adjust to much smaller ministry space in the downstairs portion of the building.

Our family is doing well and as usual, busy with ministry. In late July our oldest son Corre and his wife Claudia were blessed with the birth of their second daughter - Soshanna. She is just beautiful and doing well. In Florida - our son Kyle and his wife Ashlee will be expecting their second son in late October! We are all excited to meet this little guy soon. Megan is back with us after graduating from Bible college in May, she is now looking for a job on post so she can stay in country and help us with the ministry. Diana is also doing well and busy with all of her ministries and most of all being a huge help to me. I am thankful to The Lord for a family that is serving The Lord!

Thank you for your continued prayers for us & monthly support,

In the Lord's Army,

The Meyer FamilyMissionaries to the U. S. Military in

Baumholder, Germany

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends, September 2008

As we enter the fall season here in Germany, we look back on a very eventful summer. Our soldiers have now been in

Iraq since April and the heaviness of this situation is showing in the lives of the spouses and children. The stress on the

families here is enormous. One young mother told me recently that her three year old daughter is having such problems

being away from her daddy that the mother is taking her to counseling. How sad it is when we turn to the world for help

when our gracious Lord and His Word are there all the while. Please pray that during this difficult time of separation that

the lost will seek God and that Christians will learn to lean upon Jesus. And pray for us as we guide and encourage these

young families to place themselves in the care of our Lord Jesus Christ. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our

faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of

the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2.

Church News: Chuck and Cindy Teel are now settled into their new home and are well on their way to preparing for the

Single Soldier Ministry here at Grace. Although most of the soldiers are now in Iraq and will be returning in July of 2009,

there is still a remnant of soldiers here. Please pray for God's wisdom in their lives as they endeavor to reach our single

soldiers for Christ. It has been exciting to see how the Lord has brought different people into the ministry here at Grace. In

July Phillip, a single young man not in the military, came to us seeking what the Lord would have him to do with his life.

He senses the Lord leading him to full time ministry. He has joined the church and is looking to me for discipleship and

training. I do not take this opportunity lightly, and I would appreciate your prayers. We do praise the Lord for Nicole and

her son Thurston who have recently come to know the Lord, as well as others. We thank the Lord for souls saved, those who

have been baptized and joined the church. What a joy it is to see these folks not only trusting God with their eternity, but

with theirs lives. Although our overall attendance is presently low, personal growth in the Lord can be greatly seen in our

faithful crowd. It is our prayer that the Lord would bring revival to our military community, and around the world.

Familv News: In June, Iwent back to the States for a few weeks to assist my parents with some physical needs they are

facing. While there, I was able to present this ministry to several churches. It is always refreshing to see the interest that

America has for it's military. In July, I had the honor and privilege to travel to Korea and preach for Missionary Bruce

Rosko and the Lighthouse Baptist Church as they celebrated their tenth anniversary. It was a great joy to see our soldiers

and Koreans being reachedfor Christ. On the home front.. My wife, Diana, has started the next session of Ladies Bible

Study. It is a wonderful time to see our ladies growing in God's grace. With a church of mostly women right now, my wife

keeps very busy serving in many different ways. Our daughter Megan also is a tremendous blessing in the many ways she

serves from playing the piano to teaching a Sunday school class and many things in between.

Thank you for your failthful support, prayers, and friendship as we continue to serve the Lord here in Germany.

Without you this work and ministry would be extremely difficult. We love and appreciate you all.
