We have been involved in supporting youth sports and as building principals have been closely connected to the many activities within our schools. As a principal for the past 19 years at the elementary, middle, and high school level, what I bring to the Mosinee team is a thorough understanding of how children learn and the skills they need to navigate in our ever-changing world. I have had wonderful opportunities to recognize, honor, and mobilize the talent of teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, parents, and the community to serve the many different needs of our children. Having had the privilege of growing up in Mosinee, I know that I share the same values of a strong school system that is focused on improving student achievement. I am excited and honored to be the next Superintendent in Mosinee and look forward to relocating my family to Mosinee in June." v MMS Library Wins $5000 Great American Classroom Makeover Mosinee Middle School has been awarded a $5000 class- room makeover for its library after placing second in a national contest sponsored by Great American Financial Resources. The MMS library staff entered the school in the contest and was chosen one of ten finalists from hundreds of entries submitted nationwide. Three winners were chosen from the ten finalists after an online vote during the month of February. This is the fifth year that Great American Financial Resources has helped revitalize three deserving classrooms. Originally built in the 1930's, the middle school library re- ceived over 20,000 visitors last year and borrowed over 33,000 resources. The ultimate goal for the renovation is to create a handicapped accessible classroom within the library and im- proved availability for everyone. The staff's wish list includes painting of the walls, removal of sound tiles, updated shelving, and improved technology. A sincere thank you to everyone who voted daily to help update the library and its resources providing a greater learning environment for our students. A special thanks to the commu- nity members and businesses who helped with the distribution of voting information. v Mathew Dutkiewicz, GAFR Executive Vice President and General Manager of Retirement Services, presents Sandra Wurdeman, MMS librarian, one of two $2500 checks for the library renovation.
