THE MATERNITY CENTER AT UMASS MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER

Our family-friendly Maternity Center offers spacious, private birthing suites equipped for labor, delivery and recovery. Our postpartum floors are also equipped with private rooms, providing a comfortable, homelike setting. Plus, we have the region’s only Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit and New England’s first umbilical cord blood donation program with donations going to research or human transplantation through a pubic bank, based on patient preference. Inpatient and outpatient lactation services are readily available for breastfeeding mothers along with a variety of educational classes for new families. We have a close partnership with UMass Memorial social workers and women’s health psychiatrists for support and treatment of new mothers and families when the need arises.
