Sanyustiz took control of a bus and crashed it into the fence of the Peruvian Embassy.
• The Cuban guards then began to open fire on the bus.
• Caught in a crossfire, one of the the Cuban guards was shot and killed.

• The five individuals on the bus who killed one of the guards, took dramatic measures to reach the Peruvian Embassy in seek of political asylum.
• Ernesto Pinto-Bazurco, the head person of the Peruvian Embassy granted the asylum.
• When the Embassy refused to give up the five individuals to the Cuban government, Fidel Castro ordered the guards off the Embassy grounds.
