Like most creations the Titanicfirst had to be designed in

    blueprints or schematics.

One year later on the 29th of July, the design

Near the end of construction on the 31st of

Despite all the work already put into

the Titanics construction, it was stillnot complete for passengers. Next stepin preparation of passengers was to addfinishing touches and designate certainareas of the ship for rooms.

For starters, a fine coat of pearly-white and navyblue paint covered the tremendous ship. To add

the coat for the Titanic, the ship had to be at alarge dock while workers surrounded the aquaticmobile mass on platforms of different elevationsand slowly slather paint on the sides.

Once painting was done, the workers were able to

add the anchors to the sides. Each anchor weigheda heavy 15.5 tons. Accompanying these colossal-stoppers were 20 lifeboats. Although, 20 lifeboatswere later learned to be a insufficient amount for

all the people that were to ride the ship.

The power source of the Titanic was steam. Over 5

rooms were used to contain the massive 20 boilers. All of the boilers were treated with 162 coalburning furnaces and throughout a day thefurnaces gave off 100 tons of lung destroying ash.

In the steerage was the 3rd class area. Near the

middle of the ship was the 2nd class area.Lastly, the 1st class area was on deck and wasmost expensive, but, then again the most

luxurious. Now all thats left in preparationis to furbish the ship with many things.

Each area throughout the Titanic was furbished with

Although most of the ship was constructed from steel, there were many variations of metals used to createnumerous objects for the ship. As an example, thesmall 16.5ft and larger 23.5ft propellers were madeentirely from bronze.

Other remarkable structures and styles were placed allaround in the Titanic. Bathes were in Turkish designs.

The dining room was filled with a wide assortment ofeating utensils. Even the grand staircase was amarvelous sight as it was made of a smooth oak withgolden chandeliers hanging above and the regular

All chairs, couches, sofas, and seats were made fromwhite whicker; most rooms had crystal chandeliers;and the rails were made from wrought iron or glintbronze. Everything has a purpose, including the 4tremendous smokestacks that let the harmful smokeescape from the bowels of the ship.

Even though the Titanic had focuses on looking wellmade and furbished, it still had many safetyprecautions such as: watertight doors, triple screwenforcement, and multiple hull compartments.

The cost of furniture, styles, safety measures, andentertainment additions only summed up to be 25% ofthe Titanics total price. All together the Titanicsexpenditure was 7.5 million in cash and wouldve been

400 million if the Titanic was built in a more recenttime. A portion of the payment for the Titanic wasdone by American aid.
