On Thursday the 15th of September the Vice Chancellor of
Wits University Professor Loyiso Nongxa hosted a breakfast
meeting to thank organisations and companies who had in
the past 12 years assisted the institution with much needed
donor funding.
In June LTE donated funds to the tune of R300,000.00 to the Wits
Students Charity Foundation to assist engineering students with
their tuition. Professor Nongxa informed the gathering that their
support had made it possible for the institution to extensively de-
velop both their human and capital resources over the years.
Representing LTE at the event were Mr Thabethe, Mr Chitenhe,
Ms Nzombe as well as the LTE Buzz’s Mr Gaongalelwe. L-R: K.Chitenhe, M.Nzombe, K.Gaongalelwe, M.Keartland, E. Thabethe

As part of its social responsibility program LTE Consulting has
continued to play an active role in assisting different educational
institutions with their development plans. Recently LTE Consulting in
KwaZulu Natal was involved in a fund raising initiative for the
University of Zululand.
The University is currently in the process of extending its student
accommodation wing.
The cost of education in South Africa has risen sharply over the
last few years making it extremely difficult for many students to
access tertiary education.
Tertiary Institutions have also seen a significant rise in the cost of
running the institutions In many instances they have to rely
heavily on the private sector to donate funds to cover the cost of
infrastructure development and subsidies to student tuitions
The Funnies Corner
The CEO of a large company was walking to the cafeteria along with two of his secretaries. Upon tripping on a bottle, a genie appeared and asked the threesome if they would like to each make a wish. The first secretary excitedly exclaimed, “I wish I was on a beach in a tropical island!” Immediately her wish was granted. The next secretary proclaimed, “I wish I was on a tour of France!” Immedi-ately her wish too, was granted. Being that it was now his turn to make a wish the CEO exclaimed “I want the two of them back in their offices right after lunch….
Cisco Holographic Conferencing
As far as teleconferencing technology has come, it has yet to capture the
dynamics of face-to-face, in person meetings: the body language, posture, and
personal mannerisms that computers simply cannot replicate. That is exactly
why Cisco's new TelePresencing technology is so exciting and potentially
transformative. This technology offers the ability for two or more remote par-
ties to see, in holographic form, the people they are meeting with as though
they were really in the room. Remarking on how true-to-life the holographic
representations were, one man testing the technology at Cisco exclaimed,
"This is wonderful. I can even see the sweat on your brow!"
Dual-Screen Laptops
Dual monitor displays for desktop PCs have resulted in large
gains in workplace productivity, but laptop users have been
left out in the cold. Until now, that is. With the release of the
ThinkPad W700, Lenovo made headlines as having created the
world's first dual display laptop. GearCrave says the W700 is
"great for artists, CAD designers or anyone else who just can't
get enough desktop real estate."
I was upset but not too surprised when I saw flashing lights in my rear-view mirror. “I’m terribly sorry officer” I said “I was just trying to make
it to a meeting on time.” “That’s a shame” the officer said upon handing me my ticket, “what time is the meeting called for?” “Three o’clock” I
said. The officer looked at his watch, “you could probably still make it if you hurry up!”
Dealing with Stress
Stress is constantly with us. What happens to you when you're
under a lot of stress?
Your heart races, your breathing gets faster, your blood circulation and metab-olism speeds up. Your muscles tense, getting you ready to fight or flee. But
you don't do either. And it builds up
When nothing is done about it, too much stress will lead to; nervous disor-ders, headaches, hypertension, heart
problems, stroke, death
If you look someone straight in the eyes and see white under either iris or both, that person is under too much stress.
Here are some tips to help you deal with
stress:
1) At work, delegate tasks to others. Trust others to get it done. 2 Prioritize tasks. Do what must be done now. 3 Take a break. (Stay away from caffeine & nicotine) 4 Go for a walk or talk to some one. 5 Record your thoughts, or write them down. 6 Exercise. 7 Enjoy yourself with fun activities. 8 Do something totally different, unexpected. 9 Take deep Breathes!!!
10 Get a good laugh. .

T he management of LTE recently undertook a trip to
Denmark to cultivate Investment relations with Danish
Corporates in areas of low cost housing and Green
Energy.
Group CEO Thulani Majola, Board Chairman Asogan Pillay and LTE Energy
CEO Carsten Laugesen formed the LTE delegation that undertook the trip to
Denmark. During the course of the trip meetings were held with Arkitema
Projects and Ambercon amongst others.
The trip to Denmark has since led to the formation of LTE Innovate, an LTE
subsidiary company that will introduce to the South African market construction
of low cost modular housing using high performance concrete elements in
partnership with our Danish counterparts. This type of construction offers superior
advantages over conventional methods as the houses are energy efficient and
can be constructed over a shorter time period.

24th. LTE Family wishes them well.
The LTE football team won 6-4 against M-Web football club in a highly charged
game in Sandton. The LTE buzz sends a big shout to all the players and
supporters of our team.
The 24th of September of every year South Africa celebrates National Heritage day. This is a day in which we celebrate our cultural herit-
age, the diversity of our beliefs and tradition. It is a day to reflect on the progress the country has undergone in promoting the integration of
society and a place where all can feel they belong. This year Heritage day fell on a Saturday but LTE staff decided to celebrate the day on
Friday the 23rd.
The office was full of colour as staff members came dressed in their traditional gear including Zulu, Indian, Vhenda, Sotho and Xhosa
amongst many other traditional attires. The LTE Social Club organised a Braai lunch as part of the festivity to the Heritage day celebrations.
The Social Club and the LTE Buzz thanks all the senior Managers who make extra contributions to make this initiative possible.
