Thank you everyone for your efforts throughout the
last month.
It has been a bit quiet but all the normal activities are
happening – Coffee Chat, Mints, Hotel Raffle, the
Newsletter, photos have been taken for the donations
from last year 2019-2020 to Goulburn South Public
School, Southern Tablelands Football Association and
still organising the photo for the donation to FROGS
(Wetlands). The presentation of the donation to Lega-
cy has also occurred. The Soccer Catering is also back
in action at the Cookbundoon Fields with the finals to
be at the Workers Arena – canteen as well as the gate
at the end of October.
The Car Raffle Committee has visited the car yards and
a decision has been made as to which car will be
raffled!

Our first ‘real’ guest speaker – 2VDG Lion Norm is vis-
iting representing DG Maxine. Welcome!
Reminder that the meeting 20 October will be the
Membership Meeting with PDG Lion Anne Eldridge via
Zoom at the Workers Club.

Legacy is a charity providing services to Australian families suffering after the injury or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defense force service. They currently care for 52,000 beneficiaries, including 1,845 children and disabled depend-ents' throughout Australia.
September 1st Meeting
Goulburn Lions Donate $5,000 to Legacy’s Cause
Goulburn Lions have a long history with
Goulburn Legacy. In 2016, passed mem-
ber Lion Garry Easterby lifted our dona-
tion from $2,000 to $5,000 and we have
donated $5,000 a year since then, total-
ling $20,000 in the last 4 years.
With our present (Covid 19) predicament, money has been hard to come by and like most charities, Lions have experienced a sharp downturn in funds. At our first meeting in September, held in the station room Goulburn Workers Club, Lion Ray Strong moved that we donate $5,000 to Legacy and the motion was se-conded by Lion Alex Harmer.

In recent times Lion Ray Strong has intro-duced a way forward regarding future mem-bership. His plan was ratified at 1st Septem-ber meeting. A further meeting of the mem-bership committee
was held on the following Tuesday. Ray has ar-ranged for PDG Lion Ann Eldridge, Global Membership Team National Coordinator, to speak to our members on 20th this month.
PDG Lion Ray Strong, pictured above, has been a very busy member putting together a
membership plan and organizing a way forward for our Goulburn Club.
He has recently been appointed to serve on the Cabinet as Disaster Chairman.

Lions Christmas Cakes
Lions Cakes have arrived and Lion Robert Small is anxious
to start delivering, He urged members to get their orders
in early. Cakes will sell for the same price as last year.
2020 Christmas Car Raffle
President Rosemary related to members the progress of our 2020 Christmas Car raffle telling us that the project will still go ahead this year. Rosemary says that we will be using contactless cash. Using point of Sales machines (EFTPOS) and that she has already obtained permission to sell tickets at

Members, our Goulburn Lions polo shirts are now available at Worklocker Auburn Street Goulburn, they sell for $35. If you are a new member your first shirt will only cost $10. Lion Mark can order new shirts for you. Let him know if you require one, conversely if you need your own item of cloth-
ing embroided with lions logo, just take it to Worklocker please make sure your item is clean. Should cost members about $10.

Fishing Buddies A Kiwi and an Aussie went fish-ing one afternoon and decided to have a couple of cold beers. After a while the Aussie says to the Kiwi, "If I was to sneak over to your house and made wild passionate love to your wife while you were at work, and she got pregnant and had a baby, would that make us related?" The Kiwi after a great deal of thought, says, "Well, I don't know about related, but it sure would make us even."
