I was one of the 864 delegates charged with the responsibility to help shape the vision and church governance of our denomination for the next four years. We have much to celebrate in the life of the church. - We are near the successful completion of our 8 year campaign to “Imagine No Malaria.” We are within $6 million of the $75 million goal. - We commissioned 50 plus new missionaries to spread across the US and the world to carry the gospel of love and social justice around the globe. - We marked the 60 th anniversary of the full ordination of Women as Clergy and the 158 th anniversary of the UMW. In the midst of these celebrations and accomplishments of our church we are still divided in our opinion of how to fully include the LGBTQI Community into church life, and the issue of same sex marriage. The General Conference asked our Bishops for counsel and direction which led them to bring back a proposal for a special commission to work to find a way forward (for more information go to westohioumc.org). I will spend the sermon time this Sunday, May 29 attempting to share highlights and information from General Conference. I remain hopeful for a fruitful future for us as the United Methodist Church. Also, I am so thankful that Linworth is a place where we welcome all of God’s children to be part of this church family. Let us hold each other in prayer and pray for the unity of the body of Christ. Dear Linworth Church, As we are starting to see the signs of spring finally showing up in Ohio I am so glad to be back at Linworth. As you are all aware I just returned from being a delegate for the past ten days at General Conference in Portland, Oregon.

- We marked the 60th anniversary of the full ordination of Women as Clergy and the 158th anniversary of the UMW. THANK YOU NOTESTHANK YOU NOTESTHANK YOU NOTESTHANK YOU NOTES

The above note was received by the Garage Sale Team from students at Summit Station UMC for the gift of a rocking chair. “Dear Linworth Church, Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers as I went to Latvia and Greece. The experience has taught me so much about God’s character and his faithfulness to His people. During my time I got to work with women in prostitution, elementary school kids, gypsies, families/children at risk, and refugees. It was truly an eye opening experience. I know I wouldn’t have gotten very far without the support of prayer. So thank you again! I don’t know what is next for me, but I hope to one day go overseas again. Much love, Hannah Walker (niece of Madelyn Seiter)”

“The Bereavement Ministry, IMPACT Group and the family of Catherine May “Kitty” Dittrick thank all who helped with and provided the heartfelt memorial reception following Kitty’s Memorial Service.”

Remembering Our Newly Deceased Thanks to a willing and wonderfully talented craftsman backed by the Trustees, Linworthy's, and pastors we have a new “All Saints” name tag memorial board in the Lobby. Now we need an appropriate header for this memorial board. Please submit suggestions of Bible verses, slogans, poems, artwork, words from hymns, etc. that attest to heaven, eternity and sainthood to Debby Steele. (Contact the church office for Debby’s contact information.) Submissions are due by July 15. A committee will make an appropriate selection. The purpose of the “All Saints” nametag Memory Board is to sensitively and sanctimoniously care for a deceased person’s LUMC nametag until the person is memorialized on All Saints Sunday. The nametag would then be retired and given to the family or otherwise perpetuated. Please prayerfully consider submitting an idea or ideas for an appropriate header for our All Saints Nametag Board. If you would like to serve on the selection committee please contact Debby Steele.
