Magic Bean Foundation Talk
Rotarians were treated to an
inspirational talk by Magic Bean
Foundation members, Lorraine Evans
and Shelley Stievenart. Through an
interactive slide show and product
samples, these two remarkable
friends shared their journey to reach a
dream to uplift and change local
community members through hard
work and dedication. The pair work
with a small group of unemployed
people to collect plastic bags, turn the
bags into product and sell through
craft markets in the Durban area. For
additional information, the
foundation can be contacted via email
Simon Grainger, Marketing
Consultant, Brandbright.
Simon gave an informal talk
to Rotarians on what makes
a brand strong and relevant.
He showcased some
effective local and
international brands and the
platforms they use.
Going forward as a club,
Simon asked some
interesting questions
regarding our club’s brand
strategy and how to grow
through reaching the right
target markets in the years
to come.
Simon is seen (right)
receiving the customary 4
way test from Rotarian
Susan Van Der Merwe.
Waterloo Football Club received uniforms to assist in building team spirit
and promoting a sense of unity and solidarity. The children are hard at work
training and preparing to tackle games. Anyone wishing to assist with
training or kit can contact Rotarian Carolann Lipschitz.
