John is a founding partner of The Lewis Group and serves as the team’s family wealth director. He advocates client engagement and deep relationships within the group’s process as a necessary element to achieve long-term goals. John provides a consistent review process as well as extensive educational services through individual/family meetings, conference calls and unique events.
After graduating from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, he began his career in 1986 at Central Fidelity Bank in Lynchburg. John has vast experience in the financial services industry with prior tenure at Lehman Brother, UBS, SunTrust, and Morgan Stanley. John is also very active within the Richmond community. He is the former President of the Richmond Chapter W&L Alumni organization, former Chairman of Western Henrico Ducks Unlimited and past Board Member of Maymont and The Steward School and former Treasurer of Douglas Freeman Lacrosse Club. John currently serves on the Boards of The Faison School for Autism, Doorways (formerly the Hospital Hospitality House), RX Partnership, Massey Advisory Board, VMFA Charitable Advisors, and the Richmond Chapter W&L Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Virginia Council of CEO’s and is the Treasurer of Western Henrico Ducks Unlimited. John recently was awarded BB&T Scott & Stringfellow’s John Sherman Leadership Award for his commitment to community service in the Richmond area. He has also been named to the 2016 Financial Times 400 Top Advisors.
John lives in Richmond with his wife, Libby, and their two sons, Porter and Warner. He enjoys spending time at the river, coaching youth basketball, being active in his children’s lacrosse careers and managing his family’s beef cattle farm in Augusta County.

Joe is a founding partner of The Lewis Group and serves as the lead investment strategist and portfolio manager for the team. He believes in a goals-based wealth management approach and customized investment strategies designed to manage risk and adapt to changing economic conditions and evolving personal needs.
Having been in the investment and private banking industry since 1996, Joe has previous tenure at SunTrust, UBS, and Morgan Stanley prior to his career at BB&T Scott &
Stringfellow. His extensive knowledge of economics, financial markets, and asset allocation allows the team to provide comprehensive financial plans and portfolio designs tailored to the needs of each client and family. Joe’s community involvement includes serving as the former chair of the Alumni Advisory Board for The Longwood College of Business & Economics. He is a past Board and Founding Member of the Richmond Giving Circle, former President of the Commonwealth Association of Financial Professionals, past President of the Foundation Board for Boaz & Ruth and previous Fundraising Committee Member of the Massey Cancer Center. Joe currently serves on BB&T’s Wealth Lending Client Service Excellence Champion Board and the BB&T Scott & Stringfellow Advisory Board as an advocate for clients, advisors, and associates. He recently joined Capital & Career Accelerator’s Advisory Board. Joe received his Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance from Longwood University in 1996 and a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000.
Joe currently lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with his wife, Dr. Christina Bartholomew, and their three children, Abby, Jack, and Tyler. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching basketball, camping with the YMCA Indian Guides programs, and boating at Smith Mountain Lake. In his spare time, Joe loves to hike, run, bike and has completed several marathons and triathlons.

Rick became partner of The Lewis Group in January 2016 and serves as the team Client Relationship Manager and Business Development Director. He began his career at BB&T Scott & Stringfellow in 2004 after completing BB&T’s prestigious Management Development Program. Rick listens to clients goals and objectives and gives thoughtful recommendations reflecting unique priorities combined with a deep understanding of financial markets.
Rick received his bachelor’s degree in Analytical Finance from the Wayne Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University. He is FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 66 and Variable Life and Annuity licensed. He has also earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Rick served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2012 and received the U.S. Army Bronze Star Medal in 2008 by authorization of the President of the United States for exceptionally meritorious actions in combat. His BB&T awards include Outstanding Achievement by a Financial Advisor, Mid-Atlantic Region in 2013 and the John Sherman Leadership award in 2008 and 2013. Formally, Rick served as the Chair of the Central Virginia Community Leadership Board of the American Diabetes Association and has served as Co-Chair of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow’s CARE Committee. He serves on the BB&T Scott & Stringfellow Advisory Board as well as the S&S Educational Foundation. Rick is also the Complex Manager of the Tidewater region, managing the Norfolk, Newport News, and Virginia Beach BB&T Scott & Stringfellow offices.
Rick and his wife, Dr. Theresa Call, reside in Montpelier, Virginia with their daughter, Sylvia. In their spare time, they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, fishing, kayaking and gardening.

Kylie joined The Lewis Group in March 2014. Prior to joining the team, she was the Investment Operations Specialist at Northwestern Mutual in Richmond where she facilitated operational tasks for the investment department. Kylie assists with portfolio management by devising and implementing
investment strategies and helps the team maintain operations requests. In addition to obtaining her Series 7 and 66 registrations, Kylie is also Series 9 and 10 registered as a general securities principal supervisor.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Kylie graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in business with a concentration in finance. During her time in Blacksburg, Kylie served as the Treasurer for Zeta Tau Alpha and was very active with the Breast Cancer Awareness and Education philanthropy. In her spare time, Kylie enjoys spending time on the river, attending barre classes and watching football - Go Steelers and Hokies!

Officially joining The Lewis Group in August 2012, Trevor previously served as the team’s intern for two summers. He assists the team with comprehensive financial planning by establishing client’s goals and evaluating the client’s current financial status, then developing the financial plan before
implementation. Trevor also helps the team with performance reporting, client relationship management, and business development efforts.
Trevor graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, majoring in economics and earning a Bachelor of Science in business. He is Series 7 and 66 registered. Trevor currently serves on the Young Philanthropy Planning Committee of The Doorways (formerly Hospital Hospitality House of Richmond), the Junior Board for the Faison School and is the assistant treasurer for Western Henrico Ducks Unlimited. In his spare time, Trevor enjoys traveling, shooting sports, and competitive paintball. He is also an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast.

Kate joined The Lewis Group in April 2015. She is responsible for constructing and supporting the team’s marketing platform, and enhancing the group’s client experience. Kate manages the team’s online presence by optimizing the team’s social media strategy and web presence. She assists the
team with client communication and organizes client appreciation events. Kate previously worked at Davenport & Company as the firm’s Marketing Coordinator.
A Richmond native, Kate and her husband, William, currently reside in Glen Allen, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in economics with a financial emphasis and a minor in leadership studies from Lynchburg College. Kate was a founding member of the Lynchburg Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and was a member of the School of Business and Economics Student Advisory Board. Kate is passionate about greyhound rescue, and in her spare time is learning Italian.

Lindsay joined The Lewis Group in November 2016 and is responsible for maintaining the team’s operational needs. Lindsay is Series 7 and 66 registered and assists with onboarding and updating client accounts, maintaining asset movement requests and supporting daily service
requests. Lindsay previously worked at BB&T Securities in the Credit/Margin Department and the Cash Management Department. Lindsay graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University; Lindsay received her Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in history in May 2013. While at Virginia Tech, Lindsay was also a member of Pi Sigma Alpha - National Political Science Honor Society and Phi Alpha Theta – National History Honor Society. She enjoys yoga and volunteers with the SPCA in her spare time.
