Incentives/Policies for Efficiency
• Federal Tax Incentives– Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
• 30% tax credit for solar and small wind• 10% for geothermal
– Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS)• 5 year depreciation schedule.• Bonus depreciation for 2008 and 2009 allowed 50% depreciation
in 1st year. This program may be extended.– Energy Efficient Commercial Building Tax Deduction
• Up to $1.80/sqft depending on technology and energy reduction.
Incentives/Policies for Efficiency
• Utility Rebates/Incentives– OPPD - $50/ton up to $200 maximum per unit Utility
rebate for Heat Pumps plus favorable rate structure.– MUD - $100 Utility rebate for 92% efficient gas furnaces.
