Abe Ordover was born in Far Rockaway, New York in 1937. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Yale Law School. He practiced law with Cahill, Gordon and Reindel in New York City for ten years. In 1971, he joined the faculty of Hofstra University Law School on Long Island where he taught for ten years. He was appointed Northeast Regional Director of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. In 1981 he joined the faculty of Emory University Law School in Atlanta as LQC Lamar Professor of Law. In 1991 he founded Resolution Resources Corporation, a mediation and arbitration company, continuing with the firm until 2004 when he moved to San Diego to pursue photography as his full time occupation. He opened Ordover Gallery in Solana Beach in 2004 and operated it until 2014. The Ordover Gallery at San Diego Natural History Museum opened 2006 and remained in operation until his retirement

last December closing with his solo exhibition The Last Hurrah. The Chapman exhibition The Last Hurrah II will feature new work plus a reprise of some of his earlier images.

He has been featured in exhibitions since 2000 with major shows at Georgia Tech, a nine month exhibit at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and elsewhere in Atlanta and Georgia. His work has also been widely exhibited in New York City, Dallas, Raleigh, the Parthenon in Nashville, Palo Alto, Tallahassee, Philadelphia, and in Illinois, Minnesota and of course, California. He mounted two solo shows in 2016, City Gallery of City College and San Diego Natural History Museum.He has curated and produced more than twenty five major shows at the museum in Balboa Park and countless exhibitions in Solana Beach. He has represented scores of photographers, painters, sculptors and glass artists whose work he has shown in his galleries.
