The village of Ash is situated in a beautiful part of rural Kent and is located approximately

9 miles from the Cathedral City of Canterbury and approximately 3 miles from the historic

Cinque port of Sandwich.

East Kent has recently bid to become UK City of Culture in 2017, with the new Marlowe

Theatre in Canterbury, the Turner Contemporary in Margate and the Folkestone Triennial

being central to the cultural life of this part of Kent.

The origins of Ash date back about 1000 years and the Parish Church dedicated to St

Nicholas dates from the 12th Century and is thought to be on the site of an earlier Saxon

church. Today there remain a number of historic properties in the village and it is rightly

designated a Conservation Area to protect its character and appearance.

Ash is a prosperous village with a range of local shops, a library, post office, village pubs, a

doctor’s surgery and two well-regarded primary schools.

An excellent bus service links Ash to both Canterbury and Sandwich with 3 buses an hour

running to both destinations. Sandwich Railway Station also provides a high speed train

service to London and therefore puts Ash within commuter distance of the Capital.

The Lanes is situated in Queen’s Road, one of the historic routes running off the Street.

The Lanes will comprise a mix of eleven 3- bedroom houses and three 4-bedroom houses

arranged in a series of short terraces with front gardens enclosed by a traditional mixed

hedge and individual pathways to each unit.

The houses have been architecturally designed in a traditional style using a range of

materials that are typically found in Kentish villages. These include traditional red brick, tile

hanging and white painted weather boarded elevations all under plain clay tiled roofs.

Internally each home has been designed in a contemporary manner that creates a light and

spacious interior and incorporates sliding bi-fold doors that enables the inside living space

to be open-up to the rear garden.

The Lanes will fit seamlessly into the village street scene. Outside, both the front and rear

gardens are laid to lawn with a brick path leading to the front door and a patio and paths

providing access to a rear gate and garden shed.

the site plan. On-street parking is also available in Queen’s Road.

The inside of each home has a contemporary but country styling to create spaces of both
