This year Christleton High School achieved
69% 5 A*-C (incl Eng and Maths)
This reflects the hard work of our Students, parents and
teachers.
Changing LandscapeThis year marks the beginning of three
years of exam reform at GCSE and A level.
Changing Landscape
GCSEs are becoming increasingly difficult.
It has never been more important to not just get off to a flying start!
Key Changes
OAll GCSE assessments are now
linear. OExam opportunities in May /June.OThere will be additional marks
for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar.
New Grading SystemOMaths and English will be graded
on a scale of 1-9. (9 is highest grade)
OOther subjects G - A*
OAt the end of Y11 students will have a mixture of grades and numbers.

Controlled Assessments
O Some subjects will have Controlled Assessments which have replaced Coursework.
O Students will need to complete these in school.
O Tasks will be frequently changed.O Teachers will still mark the work. O CA can take place throughout the
course.
Early Entry ?
OThere will be very few opportunities for early entry
OSome students in Year 10 will complete a GCSE in Science in June 2016.
